Has hair thinning affected the way you wear your hair? Since my hair began thinning, I have not been able to wear my hair down. It is growing and I suspect that new hair is coming in, but when my hair is down it looks lifeless. I have not worn my hair down since March of this year. I know that I need to trim my hair and perhaps once I get that done my hair will hold curls better and have a little more body. For those of you who's thinning has affected how you style your hair, what have you done to combat the problem?

My go to style is a bun. But lately, I've been into crochet braids. It covers my thin areas and I use light weight hair so that it isnt too heavy. When I have crochet braids it helps me not too think about my thinning hair.

I'm afraid of crochet braids, and I think pulling my hair back into a bun may be contributing to the loss of my edges!

I should consider wigs. My mother wore them back in the day, and we teased her about it unmercifully. Called them her 'hats'. So now I'm dealing with the same thinning issues she had. That's what I get!

I usually just cover my thinning areas with hair. My temples are trouble areas so I just swoop my hair. I wear my hair out in natural hairstyles, 3/4 wigs, twist and braids( just don't braid my edges or closer to them).

I wore a braid wig for two months, and that really helped me to focus on my edges and stop manipulating my hair as much.
Now I'm back to wearing braid outs and trying to disguise the loss around the perimeter. I also use Toppik to fill in areas.

I just took down an install of crochet braids and I'm contemplating on a lace front for all of my progress has been lost due to wearing them.

I will have to look at the packet when I return from vacation. The hair I used was very light. Right now I'm wearing my hair in flat twists. It covers the bald spots throughout my head pretty well. I'm starting to get a bald spot at the front of my middle part. Just started taking iron supplements so I hope that helps. People still tell me my hair looks thick but it's much thinner than it used to be. I haven't written it all down since around March.
Dermatitis also causes inflammation which can lead to scarring and hair loss. Keeping your scalp clean is key to keeping hair on your head. I've taken to doing apple cider vinegar rinses 2 times per month. That really helps relieve redness and get rid of dead skin cells and oils that clog follicles and kills them off.

My go to styles are roll and tucks. Its low tension and a quick style that I can do on dry or freshly washed hair.
Sometimes I wear a wig. Once ina while I may get a sew in, but as of now I really try to avoid them because my scalp needs to be washed and massaged often.
