Is it true that hot oil treatments can zap your color? I always figured hot oil treatments would be good for your hair because color (especially when you go lighter) can dry the hair out.
 
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that it's not for colors that are lifted, like a blond or lighter color. I think the oils interfere with darker colors... because the colors are deposited.
The oils evidently push some of the color out of the hair... or something like that. Maybe somebody can explain it better. I'm at work and can't type much right now. Sorry :look:
 
Well i agree with this theory because it happened to me.I had a rinse in my hair called jazzing.

I did a overnight evoo and coconut treatmnt.The next morning my color(rinse) was gone.I was shocked because I just had put in my rinse on my last wash.

However I did the same treatment for 3 hours on my semi permanent color and it didnt fade as much. :) .
