alot of girls here love pre oil treatments with warmed oils. I think they work on all hair types. Its just a matter of finding the oils you like best. Excellent recipes are on the recipe page posted by Carmenrose.
I'll use extra virgin olive oil alone or mixed with coconut oil.
Its up to you how often you want to use them, depending on inspecting your hair ends every now and then. You could use them every wash if you wanted. I try to or at least not let a week go by without using them.
I'm with brownrelaxedhair on this! I discovered hot oil treatments last month and I like the way they make my hair feel after I shampoo. I used extra virgin olive oil at first, then added coconut oil last week, nice results
I'm going to add jojoba oil to the olive oil/coconut oil mix next shampoo!
but do hot oils work well on type4a/b relaxed hair?
and how often should I do them?
and whats the best kind and how do you do them...sorry so many ?'s

IMHO I think it does a great job on my hair. I haven't done any homemade treatments yet, but I've been using the Aphogee Evening Primrose Hot Oil Treatment and it's done wonders for my hair. I do it as a pretreatment and I love the way my hair feels afterwards. Matter of fact, I just got back from the Beauty Supply store to stock up on some more oils. I think it's been very beneficial to my hair.
