How do you do an HOT OIL TREATMENT? Also is it best to do it before or after you deep condition. Thanks in advance.

When I do an HOT OIL TREATMENT before a deep condition, I cover my hair in some kind of oil, usually evoo, and sit under the dryer for about 15-30 minutes.

If I don't do a HOT OIL TREATMENT before I wash, I just add extra oils to my conditioner and do a deep condition and HOT OIL TREATMENT at the same time.

I always do mine before I even shampoo. usuauly I take the bottle place it in a warm microwavable bowl and add hot water in the bowl and set in on low for about 2-3min until it's really warm almost hot but not burning hot. Then I wet my hair at this point it has already been detangled. I comb my hair in section then I apply it to my scalp and my end and massage it in and leaving it in my hair for 5min. Then i rinse it out don't put too much in your hair if it's not long enough. I hope that helps you I'm new at hot oil treatements myself so I'm sure someone might have a better routine hope this helped

I do my hot oil treatment on Thursday night and I wash it out Friday night. This works wonders. I don't oil my scalp daily or every other day due to the fact that I wash my hair every 2-3 days.

What I do is I have a mix of oils (EVOO, Carrot oil, Castor oil, pepermint oil-only a 3-4 drops, & cocoa butter). I put a cup of water in the microwave for about 3-4 mintues on high (or until boiling). I place the bottle in it, but not for too long. I test a drop of oil on my fingertip. I proceed to oil every inch of scalp with oil. I go to bed with a metalic cap on my head. Wake up the next morning, style it in my bun, go to work, come home and wash it out with a conditioning shampoo. I follow with a deep conditioner.

Hey ChosenbyGod,

I use the Queen Helen cocoa butter that comes in a stick. I think it's only $1.99 at the BSS. You have to melt this a few times though. What I did was get a boil of hot water and placed another bowl inside that to melt the cocoa butter. Let it cool off and harden up a bit, then melt it again. I know it's repetious but it's soooo worth it. Then I added the Hollywood's Carrot oil, EVOO, castor oil, & pepermint oil (this works great to stimulate hair growth). :)

Do you think any kind of cocoa butter will do? What are your results w/using cocoa butter??

Im scared of sitting under the dryer with oil in my hair so my hair doesnt fry. What i do, i use all the oils i have, Evoo, sesame seed oil, jojoba oil, wgho and coconut oil. I put on a plastic cap and go to bed. the next morning, i wash it out

This is what I do once/wk. I then, sit under the dryer for 20 min and rinse it out.

I used amla oil and honey (with a few drops of thyme and cedarwood oil) on slightly damp hair this was before I shampooed and my hair was VERY VERY soft. Loved it.

Is this the same as sitting under the dryer for 30 minutes? Also, I have been doing this with coconut oil. How do you know how much oil to use.

Honestly, I get the same results, and my hair smells really yummy. :lick:
I think this would go for any ot ther kind of cocoa butter as long as it says 100% cocoa butter (and it should be a little hard).

I don't go under the dryer at all when I do a hot oil treatment. The oil is already "HOT". Plus I leave it on for a long period of time.

I use to use coconut oil on my scalp as well. I got good results with this as well.

My regimine is I part and go through my entire head and oil it. Every inch!! Also once the oil cools down to room temperture I dip my ends in the oil for about 5 senconds and I let it absorb. Then I gently squeeze it a little. this has given me great results. :yay:

I don't oil my head 'till it's DRENCHED!! Just enough to saturate it a little.
