Hit a small snag with the braids

I have a spot in the crown of my head that is kind of crusty. It just feels like a layer of something on my scalp. I can feel it and see it in my fingernails when I scratch. I don't know how to get it out without taking the braids out. What do I do?

P.S. I am pretty sure this is caused by the infrequent washings (every two weeks).

Either use sea breeze on a cotton swab and cleanse the area or purchase ORS Herbal cleanse which is a latherless hair & scalp shampoo.
