High Po Holy Grail

I'm a Hi po natural and I've been natural for seven years. I have yet to find a holy grail. The closest I've come is the Oyin products.
Have you found your holy grail products? Share them here:

My only suggestion would be to add more protein to your routine
That will help in closing the cuticle. Also, luv naturals has a product called, " aloe citrus kisses". It's low in pH and it also helps in closing the cuticles, especially if you work it in using a downward smoothing motion. Hth

Natural or relaxed? Natural
Hair type: 4a
Holy grail products: diluted white vinegar
Why you love them: (seemingly) fixed my high porosity hair

I would do a white vinegar rinse after my deep conditioner as a final rinse and it seems to have solved my porosity problem. I no longer use it because I haven't had any issues.

Wow I don't know. I'm newly natural after being natural for 3 years, relaxed, and now I'm back to natural. I guess my holy grail was shea butter mixed with oils that I sealed with. Oh, and NTM leave in moisturizer before I seal...

Natural or relaxed: natural
Hair type: 4a/b
Holy Grail products: protein.
Why: I got a Komaza analysis done to help figure out my hair and one of the main recommendations was weekly protein. My hair feels completely different since incorporating protein conditioners (Mill Creek Botanicals & Aubrey GPB), and the Komaza protein treatment. My coils FINALLY clumped from root to tip and they are ridiculously defined now. I'm excited for wash'n'go season now!

OMG I LOVE the komaza care protein strengthener!! It completely changed my hair. I also noticed curl clumping for the first time and my fine strands never felt stronger. I use it every 2 weeks

Really?!?! I usually keep ACV in the house, I wonder if it will do the same. Thank you @nirel333 !!!

I just bought Shea Moisture's High Po cowash from Target. I haven't tried anything by them in recent years, so well see how it does. I use Joico K Pak from time to time and it's okay. Is the Komaza protein an "I can't live without this" kind of product?

If I can't find anything on the ground to replace it, yes. I've only tried two other protein products: Aphogee green tea & keratin spray- not impressed and Aubrey GPB conditioner, which was good but the Komaza protein blew it away. I still haven't tried my bottle of Mill Creek Botanicals protein conditioner. Regardless, I'm seeing great results from consistent (ok, it's only been three weeks but the difference is big) protein usage.

What protein product do you use?
I'm not committed to any one brand. I just read ingredient lists and make sure things like hydrolyzed wheat protein is high on list. I use 2 step aphogee (mad that they changed their formula), mane and tail , stuff I find in Ross and Burlington....even dollar store protein conditioners:look:. I almost always look at conditioners wherever I go, so many times I just buy one that looks promising.

My hair breaks less and I am growing pass mbl now.

Wow! @Sosa
Ive neglected regular protein treatments. I do them once in a blue moon. I'm product purging and want that one or two lines I can rely on for my high po hair. Im tired of the search. Most products that receive rave reviews do nothing for me or work against my hair and I believe the major determining factor is porosity. I can copy someone with the exact same type and texture and get totàlly diff results if they're low porosity.

Your welcome! Yes, it should have the same effect as white vinegar. You don't have to dilute it as much as you would white vinegar because I believe its less acidic. Make sure you dilute it tho. Use it as your final rinse, you will feel a difference. On a side note, I highly recommend the komazacare protein strengthener. If you have high porosity hair, or fine strands it will change your life.

All of this.
It almost doesn't matter what else I use on my hair or do to my hair, as long as I stay on top of my protein. Weekly protein changed my hair.

Hair type: 3c/4a

Holy grail products: I alternate between moisturizing & protein liquid leave-ins (daily), ayurvedic powders (monthly), and DCs (weekly). I also use a light protein reconstructor after cowashing or shampooing on Saturdays.

Why you love them: They keep my hair moisturized and strong.

What brands do you use?

Pure aloe vera juice in my leave in to close the cuticle, pre poo with coconut oil (my hair HATES coconut oil for anything else, but it helps give my high po section strength before a wash) .I just started mixing protein filler into my deep conditioner & it seems to help. I will try some of these suggestions im seeing in here too

Hair type: 4a/b
Holy grail products/brands: Millcreeks biotin, Oyin hair dew, Straight aloe vera juice
Why you love them: If I don't use millcreeks my hair rebels and lets go of moisture easily, oyin is the only leave in I've tried so far that doesn't evaporate from my hair within hours plus it's a low PH which for us is necessary.

Will be buying the Komaza protein strengthener tomorrow along with a couple other things I'd like to try out. I'm currently using millcreek biotin once a week I'm hoping this + the komaza will get my hair right where it needs to be.

Any HiPo have any other Komaza suggestions? I really like that they list the PH of all their products. Currently in my cart for my hair

Coconut Curl Moisturizing Spray
Moja Moisturizing Shampoo
Protein Hair Strengthener x2
Coconut Damage Control Serum

No holy grails for me. I've been natural for 10 years now and the older I get the worst my hair gets. What works one month, stops working the next month. So... what used to work:
Conditioner: MJ RR, MJ SSB, Aestelance damage repair. All of these have cones. So far no natural deep conditioners work on my hair.
Leave-in: Inahsi naturals
Spritz: Botanical Spirits (BS) hydrating mist
Styler: Nothing works, thus far UNLESS I do a BS Mud conditioner (see below). Then and only then do I get fat juicy twists.
Shampoo: BS Banana peppermint moisturizing shampoo.
Co-wash: BS Henna herbal keratin smoothie.
Butter: BS avocado coconut milk butter
Mud conditioner: The only natural one that works so far is BS Herbexture Mud Mask. Has a fair amount of ACV in it.
note: I like the above products because they make my hair moist, but I haven't purchased BS in awhile 'cause girl almost never has sales and does absolutely no promotions, therefore she is not affordable at full price. Her ingredients are good though and her line seems to be made for those of us with hard hair, which is a common complaint with HiPo hair.

Hair type: 4a
Holy grail products/brands: Komaza/Joico
Why you love them: Like most have said the Komaza protein treatment is everything. It brought my hair back to life. I use to use it every two weeks and pulled back to once a month because my hair started to get a little rough (after consistently using it for 5 months). Now I balance it out with Joico Moisture Recovery deep conditioning once a month as well. But I also use Komaza Damage Control Serum as a leave in after every wash since it has a good amount of protein in it.

Having healthy hi-po hair for me requires always using some form of protein to fill in and patch up those open cuticle layers.

I've never heard of Botanical Spirits. I have to check it out. I used to live on the hair board, but haven't visited regularly in a long while so I don't know what the acronyms mean

MJ RR miss jessies rapid recovery. MJ SSB miss jessies sweet sweet back condition. I always feel funny writing out the name of the last one considering it is named after a pretty racy movie. Lol.
