Hello All,
I am a pescitarian and only eat fish/shrimp once a week and had noticed that my hair was not growing like it did when I ate all types of meat. I have not had any pork or beef in 14 years and chicken in 5 years. When I went to get my ends clipped I told my hair dresser that my hair seemed healthier when I had a perm and she asked me if I ate meat and I told her about once a week. She then informed me that I need to take some protein vitamins to make my hair healthier and stronger. Is this true?

Thank You,

Hair is made of protein, so if your body feels like it's not getting enough protein, your hair will be the first thing that suffers - it's extraneous to the body.

A lot of ladies drink protein shakes in order to insure that they are getting enough protein - if you are not averse to soy or whey, there are plenty of types of shakes out there. :yep:

Exactly, I was going to suggest protein shakes too. Took the words right out of my mouth! By the way, very good answer Kiya!

ITA with the protein shakes, also nuts, beans, and cheese if that is allowed have plenty of protein.
