hi-lighting gray hair

Can gray hair be hi-lighted?

I am certainly no expert on this but I remember reading in some of the henna threads about using it to cover grays. I think the gray hair turns out like reddish or auburn highlights, depending on how one prepares the henna.

I use Sebastians colorsihnes in the darkest blonds range, I forget the color,( I have lightish brown hair) and it blends in nicely

Thanks. That helps alot because I was thinking about using henna or the sebastian. I really do not want to use any harsh dyes right now.
