I have to say "THANKS" for this site. It is you all that make it what it is and I truly believe this was divinity that led me here!!! Thanks for helping when you don't even know you are helping.....that is awesome.....I hope to be the same for the future newcomers :yep:

I come to this site with pen in hand and notebook. I started using suggestions for my 5yrs.old dd hair which is 4a/b but I couldn't get it to retain moisture and now I am 'cowashing .....castor oil.evoo(lol).....I am laughing at myself using the lhcf lingo that used to be foreign....ha!! Some of it still is but I am going over the threads to learn the rest!!!

Now that I have a "regi" for my dd ...I can now focus on me...I am a 4a/b and I am currently wearing a weave. I had my "Aha" moment while lurking on this site and realized my hair should be growing with this and it isn't that put me on the quest for healthy hair for myself and dd for 2009 !!! I would prefer to wear my natural hair but I have hair issues.....my edges are almost bald....acutally the front perimeter like from my ears and around....my edges will grow but they grow so slow and I have one or two small smooth spots by my temple and then it start to break again......I am going to see a "derm" thanks to you all !!

But right now I need a 'weavologist" in the Phoenix Metro area who is good really good. I am picky with the weave...I will pay top dollar 4 hair and services but I have had my nightmares so I really need my AZ friends to help me out with some suggestions....my new motto is " If it isn't healthy underneath ...it doesn't matter what they say on the street!"

So I am researching what hair to buy EP, Wagmans...etc...and lace front closures...what texture and as I said who I can get here to install.

Thanks again for being here.....you just don't know....I am so grateful !!

P.S.
And addicted......

I wish you all the best on this journey and as for your addiction site it is something that we all share, then again knowledge is power, all the best for you and your dd.
P.S. I am also 4a/b texture MWA!

Hi, and welcome!

I also reside in Arizona. I can't really personally recommend a good weavologist, because I haven't gotten one in a while. I previously went to All About You Hair Salon in Peoria. Amber did my weaves, but she doesn't work there anymore. However, if you call them and ask them about who's the best, they'll recommend someone. Last I heard, it was Jackie (the owner), but I don't know if she still works on hair like that. I've seen her and the salon featured in a few magazines, which surprised me because the salon isn't really big, or all that nice, or in the best area. Also, their prices have more than doubled since I last visited, but depending on your budget, it may or may not be reasonable. The last time I called for my sister, they were in the mid-$200s.

I hope that helps, and again, welcome to LHCF!

thanks for your responses....you wouldn't think you would be nervous sitting at a computer ...hoping you get responses....it's the wierdest thing...but I do....so now I can breathe(lol)..I also hope to be at the next AZ meetup can't wait......Here's to healthy hair'09 and beyond !

Welcome! I used to live in Arizona. I wish that I could help you with a weaveologist but I don't know of any. I am so happy that you came to join us. I am sure that you and your daughters will acheive great lengths! Happy hair growing!
