Hi I\'m new!

Hi ! It feels so good to finally log on and be able to talk about hair with everyone. I have been visiting this site everyday for about a month now...and i absolutely love it /images/graemlins/smile.gif
Anyways...I got my very first relaxer about 2 months ago so I cant even tell you how happy i am that i found this site in good time to help me learn how to take care of it. I love taking care of my hair, and i look forward to having long and healthy hair as i learn more and more each day.
My current regime:
Wash twice a weeek
Pre shampoo with Hot Six Oil for 1 hour in plastic cap
Condition wash with Suave Tropical coconut
Follow with Elasta QP-DPR moisturizing conditioner for 30-60mins Or At One Reconstructor (love this /images/graemlins/lick.gif ) for protein twice a month (i might change this to once a month). I always follow my protein conditioner with a moisturizing conditioner.
Leave in : Motions or Elasta H2
Roller set with lotta body setting lotion or braid/twist out using Elasta QP H2 and mango butter for my ends...still cant wrap my hair without getting the frizzes...sleep in satin scarf.
Haveny found a good oil for my scalp yet, i used to grease my scalp...after this site i've stopped doing that...i've just ordered some unrefined coconut oil so i hope that will work out.....
daily moisturizers: elasta qp oil recovery and mango butter for my ends..can u tell i love Elasta QP /images/graemlins/lick.gifthank you everyone for all your advice and i look forward to sharing my journey to healthier hair with you. /images/graemlins/weird.gif

Re: Hi I\'m new!

Welcome. I have been on this board for four months. The ladies are very nice and helpful. People compliment my hair more often now. The only regret you will probadly have about this board is why didn't I find this board sooner. Also, one of the ladies gave me a good suggestion concerning this board. She had suggested that I save any helpful information to a floppy disk.

Re: Hi I\'m new!

Re: Hi I\'m new!

Thats a good idea skbaker!! Theres just so much good hair info..it would be nice to have it saved on a disk. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Hi I\'m new!

Thanks adrienne and Kit Kat /images/graemlins/wink.gif This board keeps me motivated especially after hearing all the good results everyone is having with their hair...I cant wait to get longer and healthier hair.
Right now my hair in the back is down to the bottom of my neck with bangs in the front that reach my eye brows. My main struggle is growing out my thinning hairline...i've been using ors fertilizing temple balm for about a month with slow results...someone recommended trying Vit E...does anyone know where i can get this? /images/graemlins/confused.gif thanks again

Re: Hi I\'m new!

Well, some people just pierce open a Vitamin E capsule. I think most peopl buy Vitamin E oil in a bottle. This can be bought in a health food store and even more conveniently, the drugstore. It might even be in the supermarket if your supermarket has a beauty aisle!!

HTH!

Re: Hi I\'m new!

when i first started wearing my bun, i was pulling it too tight and my hairline started thinning. the Vitamin E oil worked wonders. at first i used the capsules. i bought them at Target. now i have the liquid. i got it at Sav-on Drugstore, if you're familiar. maybe you have CVS in your area. here's how theirs looks:

definitely check locally first, and make sure it's pure. it should say so on the bottle, but that can be deceiving. we were just chatting about that on another board.

Re: Hi I\'m new!

Alright, since we're talking about it already. Tell me how often you put this on your scalp and what I have to as well. I have started applying vitamin E oil to my hairine becasue I have an issue but I added rosemary oil for extra stimulation. Gimme all the details.

I don't know what I did...I don't think I pull my buns too tight but who knows....maybe it was sleeping without a cap....I have NO clue..I don't even know how long its been that way. I just wanna fix it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Hi I\'m new!

sorry daviine I spelled your name wrong /images/graemlins/frown.gif i would also like to know how often i should apply the Vit E??

thinning hairlines and vitamin e ?

Girl...I don't even know. I've always skipped and sometimes skimmed over threads and posts where people discussed their thinning hairlines becasue it didn't appy to me. I think daily at least but some people did it twice a day if I remember correctly.

Adrienne...help us out here.....

Re: thinning hairlines and vitamin e ?

Bumping for my girl Adrienne.... /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: Hi I\'m new!

sorry it took me so long, and thanks for bumping, daviine! /images/graemlins/blush.gif

i bought the liquid vitamin E. i put it in an empty Avon Dry Ends Serum pump bottle. at blkmane's suggestion, i added rosemary and peppermint EOs with some of the vitamin E. my scalp just sizzles when i use this. right now, i can't use it that often because my new boss is pregnant and smells make her sick. lol! she hasn't smelled it yet, but EVERY strong smell makes her sick. so i'm trying to be considerate since she did back flips to bring me back to Mattel.

ANYWAY, i digress... i use this potion on the weekends, and before i started back at Mattel, i would use it almost every morning (translation: when i remembered). i saw baby fine hairs after a couple of weeks. it takes a few months to completely fill in. did i leave anything out?
