Hi ladies!

Okay I'm still working on getting over my fear of using a little heat. I actually used my blow dryer for a few minutes a couple of weeks ago.

But now straightening. I got a new electric hot comb (YAY) I've had it for a month and been afraid to use it. :(

I'm in month 4 of what I'm hoping to be a 6 month stretch and I'd like to see my progress. I have this spray:

Product Name: MHZ MEGAHERTZ HEAT STYLING MIST 8.5 oz

From the website:
Description: MHZ Megahertz Heat Styling Mist - Hi-Frequency Styling. Heat protection. Flexible-hold. Professionally-engineered to change your style frequency as easily and as often as you choose. MHz Heat Styling Mist heat activated formula works with your heat styling tools to provide flexible-hold and style definition. Style Recall Technology. Heat Protection. Flexible-Hold. Instructions: Apply It: Spray evenly on dry hair and apply heat appliance. Move on to the next section and repeat until finished.

Now what I need to know is if I need anything else. Also should I pretreat with oil or anything?

Wish me luck :)

TIA for help, and everything.

And before I stop I'd like to report that since joining LCHF I think I've gained about an inch and a half in length or so and lots of health. Thank you so much all of you.

You'll be ok as long as you use your heat protectant and don't use the heat too high. I wouldn't worry about pre-treating but do a good deep conditioning before straightening. I've never had any luck with those electric hot combs. The one I had didn't do anything. It was like combing my hair with a regular comb, lol. But good luck though! Let us know how it comes out.

A flat iron might be a better idea than a hot comb (electric). It just depends on your technique. A flat iron can sometimes be eaiser to master. Plus everyone's hair is different, but you usually will see less damage from a flat iron than a pressing comb. Pressing combs tend to rip the hair in my opinion. I hope this helps.

I'm sure you are going to love seeing your length after all this time. Best wishes!

Okay thanks ladies. I have to post pone the straightening I hurt my back again. I got the same model of hot comb I had before and I think I'll be okay as long as I take my time and detangle very well before getting started.

I just cannot get the hang of flat irons. I have a really nice ceramic one but I have yet to master it's use or get my hair very straight at all.
