Hi Everyone

I'm new and I have been going from profile to profile to find out about different products and regimens. It has taken me a week to come up with a regimen here goes: Elucence clarifying shampoo, MNT moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, ORS hair mayonaise for deep conditioning. I currently use ORS relaxer and love it. EQP Breakage Control Serum for my protein treatment. Suave Milk and Honey for conditioner washes. I have not figured out what to put in my hair for a leave in conditioner. I would also like to know what is a good product to put on my hair after a relaxer to give it bounce and shine without weighing it down? What are good products from CD to moisturize the new growth because I am going to start stretching my relaxers also? What is Surge 14 and Salerm 21? Where do I purchase these products? In what order should I apply these products? I always have a problem after I relax my hair and let air dry. My hair becomes dry looking and is not bouncy. What to put on my hair when I flat iron to make it shine and bouncy? I am sorry if I have a lot of questions but it is so much information here. I don't know where to start.

TIA

Welcome!

Those are a lot of questions, but here's one I can answer quickly before heading to bed.

I see you're a 4b. I think to moisturize your new growth you might want to try coconut or extra virgin olive oil. Those work well for me.

Well, what do you put on your hair now?? Is your hair fine, b/c if it is, then greasy products will weigh it down. You need an oil moisturizer, and leave-ins that are moisturizing for your hair, so that it can be smooth, fluffy, etc.

What's CD? I know about Elasta QP Mango butter for the new growth. I think it does a pretty good job. And I use Paul Mitchell's The Detangler in the shower, like as an extra conditioner to help me detangle the new growth and keep it soft.

Surge 14 is a scalp spray that has Keratin in that claims to make hair grow faster... they tell u to wash every single day and spray it on the scalp twice a day. A few people got more growth with it, but most got little growth boost and ended up with VERY sensitive/irritated scalps, like I did. U can find it in almost any BSS.
Salerm 21 is a leave-in conditioner, has silk protein in it or something. I dont know much about it. You'll probably find it in higher end Beauty supply stores.

That's the thing with airdrying. You need to put your products in while the hair is wet, otherwise, if it dries with no products, it'll end up blowing up, and the cuticle will be raise so it'll make it hard to absorb moisture.

First you need a heat protectant, whichever one you decide to use. You can also use a gloss...

Hope that helped. Good luck :)

Welcome,:dance7:

As a heat protectant I like Beyond the Zone Turn up the Heat (Sally's), Keracare Silken Seal (Ulta or JcPenney's & some BSS) or Biosilk Silk Therapy (Ulta, Trade Secret, Target). Alot of the Ladies on this sight like Neutrogena Healing Serum (Target, Walmart, K-mart), I've never used it. I just bought Sebastians Laminates Anti-Friz and heat protectant (Ulta) at my stylist's advice but I haven't used it myself. When she uses it my hair comes out silky and bouncy.

Hope I helped!

Try using one of the leave in conditioners with some coconut, olive, or jojoba oil.

Keracare's Silken Seal, used for blow dry but seals the hair well for any heat usage.

Welcome!

Salerm 21 is a great leave-in. You can get that, and other Dominican products from www.sickbay.biz, or www.ibeautyny.com. I'm sure there are other online sites that sell them as well as a local beauty supply, depending on where you live.

Elasta QP Mango Butter is great for new growth. It is definitely helping me stretch, by keeping my edges soft and wavy. WGO is also good for new growth...makes mine more manageable.

KeraCare seems to be great for almost anything. I've used the moisturizing lotion with jojoba oil, and the essential oils, and they are both great. Parnevu T-Tree oil is a good, light moisturizer too.

I'm still trying to figure out how to keep that bounce and get rid of that dry look, when air drying, as well. Good luck!
