hi!
i'm the new kid on the block.
(for the 3rd time this week, i'm sure

i have actually been lurking for a few months now. i stumbled across this amazing site when i was researching going natural last summer. i made the choice to BC in October....but i didn't get all of the relaxer out so i went to a hair cuttery and got the rest of the relaxed ends chopped off as of Nov. 2008! (yay!) ...and then i put 1/2 a box of that kiddie-texture softener on my head shortly after....
....and i have noticed that as my hair grows...it has this weird "tapered" shape that the stylist gave it and it makes me sad, so i am currently practicing protective styling (buns and braids) to grow it out....so as u all can probably see, i have a lot to learn and a long way to go!
but, i would just like to say that all of the support i have seen on here between members is beautiful and it is the main reason that i decided to finally turn in my lurker's t-shirt and become a full-fledged member.
