do you clean the hair before you put it in your head??

ive seen in a few albums that people soak it or wash it or whatever....should i be doing that....

please keep in mind that i am very lazy :look:

:lol: girl you silly, you are not lazy.
I think soaking the synthetic hair in vingar cleans the hair to avoid bacterial build up. But I will bump for more responses.

Bumping......

i think the braid lady said that soaking in vinegar and hot water for fifteen minutes removes the alkaline??? And that the hair wouldn't be as drying. I dunno, my hair still was crunchy dry after the take down

Its not really necessary to soak the hair, I usually just spray some braid spray on it before I add it on to my real hair.

What are you doing to your braids while they are up? When I take mine down, my hair is really soft.

I soak the hair in vinegar and water then rinse and spray with braid sheen. The main difference that I've noticed is that my head doesn't itch during the first week or so like it does when I don't clean the hair first. I haven't noticed a difference in the condition of my hair when I take the braids down. My hair always feels really moisturized after I take down braids and that hasn't changed.

Yeah, my hair is really soft and moisturized when I take down my braids. Actually, it feels kinda oily...I guess from the MTG and braid spray.

I use it straight from the bag. I use to soak in vinegar & rinse it out, but it never seemed to make much of a difference (other than wasting my time), so I stopped. I rinse several times a week, anyway, so I don’t worry about it.

Here you go Shatani
REMOVING THE ALKALINE BASE
You have an option to take the alkaline base off the Kanekalon hair by soaking the extended hair in vinegar and water. A sink full of water, 1 cup of regular vinegar. Soak 15 minutes, rinse, air dry. Spray braid spray on this hair piece by piece when apply to your hair. The alkaline base irritate the scalp in some.
