Help

I am natural with 4a/b hair...I have been wearing my hair in braids continuously for a long time but have real trouble retaining growth though I get a lot of new growth:wallbash:

I have been reading round this board and gained lots of tips

Just wanted to clarify if there are any vital things I should be doing

also what is a braid/twist out

Linda

Are you keeping your braids moisturized? A braid or a twist out is either braiding/twisting your hair usually while moist and/or with leave-ins, letting them fully dry then taking them down/out.

Welcome to the boards!
Here's a pic of one of my twist outs. What I normally do is wear my twists for a week or two, then untwist the two strands, but leave them as "clumps" and wear the twist out for a while. Depending on the size of the twists or braids and the texture of your hair, the twist-out of braid-out will look different.

I think moisture is where I am letting myself down...I use synthetic braid extensions most of the time and I thought maybe I am doing them too oftn (back on back) and not giving my hair a break

Thanks for your advice

I welcome more tips!!!
