Ok picture if you will Beyonce in one of her blonde shades....now take a cup of green koolaid and pour it on her head, that is what my hair looks like right now. I dyed my hair blonde so that I could dye it a lighter shade of brown. I read on here about people using hennalucent and when I went to Sally's to get some, it said that it could be used on bleached hair. Who would have known I would look like a cross between Mary J Blige and Oscar the freakin Grouch? I guess the one thing that I can say is that the henna toned down the orangey tone of my hair, but the problem is that I don't think green goes well with my skin tone. Can anyone suggest a gentle brown rinse that I can put on my hair so that I can go out in public again?

Sorry to hear that. I have no experience, but whatever you do, my advice would be to test it first before you do your whole head.

I am no expert either, but maybe you could try one from the Beautiful Collection line. They are semi-permanents that contain protein to help strengthen.

I agree w/ HoneyDew, Beautiful Browns have nice colors. It can be found definitley at Sally's & some BSS carry is also. I would probably go w/ Dark Warm Brown or Light Brown. Good Luck to you & keep us posted. Oh yeah....don't forget to strand test an area under your nape or harvested hair from your comb/brush.

Wow, Catherine said that could happen and I never really believed it.
Sorry that happened to you.

I used Natural Instincts Golden Brown for years and years. It's a semi-permanent. You could try that.

i hadn't heard anything bad about this product and the directions said that is could be used on blonde hair so never in a million years thought my hair would be looking like its growing mold! thanks for all of the advice. I'm about to go out and get something to combat this madness...wish me luck!

ok this is the deal, Henna is a great but difficult product to use. it color perfect but it seals the hair in a way that its hard to do something after u used henna on the hair, lucky for you u used one of the softer hennas in the market. The Solution for u is to use a semi or permanent color, but before that go to ur beauty salon and asked them to make a color wash with bleach and hot water and apply it like a shampoo for 15-20 minutes
that wont bleach ur hair what it will do is to take that green shade ur hair has. then use a brown color with a soft shade of red so it can neutralize completly the green shade...
Good Luck

it happens in blonde hair cause that henna tones are made in ash or blue base, so when they mix with the blonde they create GREEN!!!!!!!

I know its too late, but the reason why u got that green tone is because you diddn't use pure henna. U used a brand that add green dye (and probably other things) to their henna in an effort to make their henna look more 'potent'. U should have used a trusted brandname like the jamila and you wouldnt have had that problem....

I definitely sympathize with what happened to you. Last spring almost the same thing happened to me. I had dyed my hair honey blonde but was disappointed with the outcome so I attempted to color it dark with a semipermanent. Like with you my hair turned a shade of green(I had a teacher ask me if I was on the swim team due to the green tint). I have seen that some people are suggesting you use beautiful collection semi permanent but that is what turned my hair green and a test swatch did not appear to green. I removed the greenish tint by using clairol metalex but that is a semi permanent color remover so I don't know if it can be used on henna. I think maybe a professional evaluation would be best because fixing such problems can be damaging. I wish you the best of luck. If you have any questions feel free to send me a pm.:)
