Hello Ladies,
I 'm so pleased, I just wanted to share my results! Awhile back I posted a thread about the few gray strands I have in my head (maybe 5-6 total...but I'm too young for them). Anywho, many of you suggested henna. I'd done my own henna (inconsistently) years ago....maybe 2x total. It was just too time consuming for me to keep at it, but I really wanted to give it another go. Well, I researched my area and found an Indian salon that uses body art quality henna and would apply it, process it under the dryer for an hour, rinse me, and send me on my way for $45. Woohoo! I was all over that! So, yesterday I went, and was in and out within 1.5 hours (as opposed to the day before prep and 5-6 hours it would have taken me at home....plus the mess). I LOVE my results! My hair is soooooo shiny and the color....is.....amazing! I can't wait to do the next treatment so it can become more intense. I plan to do a treatment next month (couple weeks before my baby is due...if she allows
). Anyway, I 've attached a pic of my naked hair just after the treatment. I went home without any product. Funny thing is she pulled out a comb after she rinsed expecting to comb my hair out....ummmmm no....I declined and explained I preferred to go home with my curls in tact. I went home to apply my leave in to my ends and simply braided overnight as I want to do just as she recommended (allowing the henna to oxidize for 24 hours before washing). I unbraided and pulled it all back in a banana clip for work today. I'll be deep conditioning tonight, and rebraiding for my staple style (braidout these days).
You can't truly appreciate the color in the pic (it's noticeably reddish/burgundy tint in the sun and the grays are a beautiful reddish highlight). You can at least tell how shiny it is...
Thanks for the recommendation!
