I'm sure this has been answered in the past, but honestly there are so many Henna posts I'm too lazy to search through them all :)
When you Henna just for the conditioning properties, not for color, what do you add to your mix? Do you add different ingredients than if you were doing it for color?
I'm ready to take the henna plunge but without the color!
Thanks!

Hey, Ms. Kipani!

There are so many threads on henna, I can't count em all, but you may start with this thread below.

Personally, for conditioning only, I mix:

100 mg Jamila brand body art quality Henna
1-2 tbs Amla powder
3 tbs Dabur Amla oil
3 tbs cocounut oil
3 tbs Extra virgin olive oil (abbreviation = EVOO)
3 tbs honey
a couple of big squirts of cheapy conditioner (I use Mane & Tail - MNT)
a little water to mix (make sure it makes a thick paste for less mess)

I leave it on about an hour or so and then rinse it out with conditioner, shampoo, and then deep condition (DC), then air dry or roller set/wrap.

Hope this helps!

Although, you may still get a little dye release, you can mix just henna and water. You can add some oil and/or conditioner if desired, but it's not a requirement. Happy Hennaing! :)
