ok i have not used henna by itself but i have been using cocasta oil for the past month or two and it is the only thing i put on my scalp as well.
i feel like my hair has been thickning up and it feels very moisturized.

so does henna thicken the hair?
even if it is in an oil?
and if you have used the cocasta oil do you feel like it has thickened your hair?

I use the dabur vatika coconut oil as my daily oil rinse. It has henna in it. My are with stubborn grays are shrinking. I think with continued use, my grays will be gone or barely noticeable. I am so happy that I found this by accident.:lachen: Since using ayurvedic products, my hair is doing so much better health wise.

Short answer...yes. Henna and cassia thickens up your hair. Both will loosen the curl pattern over time too.

DDtexlaxed do you man your greys are turning color or that they are straightening out/relaxing? Henna can do both, but I'm curious about which one is happening to you or both.

^^^Yup, even in oil...I forgot to add. So if someone is rather prone to protein overload, they should avoid oils w/ henna in them, IMHO.

It is changing color. I really hope it doesn't straiten the curl pattern out too much. I'd like to transition for a year.:ohwell:

Well...LOL...the henna is magic, eh? I bet you didn't expect your greybies to go away. :) Anyway, it takes many years of apps to get the maximum straightening, so don't worry. Even if it does straighten it, it'll be uniform as you continue to use the oil.
