Hi ladies i'm a newbie and i wanted to know more about henna use. I know yall are probably going to tell me there is a thread on it but i already went through 20 or so pages of threads and couldn't really find what i wanted to know. So if anyone is kind enough to tell me where i can find the thread or give me info on it, it will be more than welcomed. I hate to be a pain in the butt! Sorry ladies.:(

Thanks so much ladies! this helps alot. But one more question though,. Do you ladies who use henna use this as an alternative to chemical dye or for other uses?

I use it mainly for the conditioning, strentghening and shine it give my hair. BUT, I loooooveee the color I've gotten from henna :)

So sweetie...I couldn't figure out what you wanted to know from your original post...I'm going to henna a week from now (without letting it set) so that I don't get color release...I use it for conditioning purposes. There is a thread that Sarcea started called, "Do Ya'll Henna?" the thread is really long...but if you look at the journals of some of the ladies that responded you get pictures and advice...come to think of it...I think Kinikakes recently Hennaed with good results, check out her album. HTH

I use it for everything it does....color, condition, strength. I would never mix this with a chemical color.....I would be too scared of damage.

I am glad i know now becuse i thougt peoples uses it to color their gray hair ,i hate any kinda hair color even rinses.

I use it not only as an alternative to chemical dye, but as a strengthener and conditioner. I found that my gray hair grows in so fast I have to color it bi-weekly. Hair dyes were quite harsh on my hair. Henna, on the other hand, is nourishing to my hair. You look way too young to have to worry about gray hair yet, though :)))
