Ok ladies I have not been on for while. but still keep up with my routine. I am APL YEAAAAAH BUT chilllld I cant take it anymore. I need a change. sooooo after much research and knowing what qiorks for my hair. I am going to get texlaxed on Sunday. I explained to my stylist what exactly I wanted.

I co-wash my hair 3 txs a week and I use only natural products they seem to work the best for my hair being totally natural at my current length just is not working for me right now.

Are there any women who used to natural and now texlax and love it. Any advice for upkeep and length retention. My next goal is bottom of is top chest length if that makes any sense.

I just BC'ed today but I believe that it can be done successfully and you will have more options with your hair. As long as its texlaxed properly you will be able to wear it in the wash n go's that almost all naturals love and still have that ability to get a nice straight style.

Good luck!

I am thinking about doing the same thing in December once I reach APL. I would suggest you do a search with naturals and the word texlax. There are a few threads out there. From what I read, most people seemed very happy with their decision. A handful went back natural after a couple of years because they missed the texture.

HTH :)

Also, please post your results about your experience Sunday...or send me a PM as I am very interested to know how it goes and your impression.

I texlax on May the 19th this year and I too am loving it. I love the volume of natuarl hair but little shrikage. I used ORS no lye. At the moment I am on a personal HYH challege till my next touch up, but I am taking this time to get to know my hair, what products it likes and what will work.

I just tried the Nexxus line and so far so good.

Depends how texlax you want your hair, mine is about 85% straight.

I am planning on rollersetting after washing and learning how to do that seran wrap thing that macherieamour has on her blog.

I think treat you hair like silk, slip in a conditioner is key. I think you have to manage it just like you would with any chemical straightened hair.

Remember protein/moisture balance

My results are in my sig.

I am going to follow this thread for a while. I am very interested in your results as well. I plan to texlax when I get to bra strap. thats not for a few years I am hoping my hair will stay just as strong with minimal breakage. So your natural and its been two years and your at armpit. Okay well then I was right I have another year to go before I reach armpit Seems like I been a collar length for the longest.

When I texlaxed, I only put the relaxer on my hair and washed it out immediately. My goal was to lessen the bulk of my natural hair. I just think if you want to do it, go for it. We got your back no matter what you decide to do.

Thank you thank you ladies . I am scarred though. I think I will get it pressed out on Sunday and then Texlax in September. I am a bit of a punk. My main goal it to be able to do wash a go;s and more stlying options. and to see my length with out stretching .

I will post my pics. I started off with like an inch of hair all around two years ago in June.

I have taken good care of my hair thanks to LHCF . but I guess since I never really got it pressed out i will start with that

Good luck with your decision. I was thinking about texlaxing but changed my mind after I realized how difficult it might be when getting touch ups especially once your hair is longer.
