Ok well I have finally started on a regime and wanted to see if anyone can give me some input..

I was my hair twice a week.
I use:
ORS uplifting shampoo
ORS stimulator Mayo-sit under dryer for 20 minutes
I rinse out
I use Wild Hair Growth
I use ORS fertilizing serum on my temples
i put a dab of ORS olive grease..
Wrap it up in a scare

My hair is soft but hard.
I take my vitamins daily-MSM powder,Biotin and Multi-vitamin
Is this a good start or am I missing something?
I feel I am..

I am trying to just leave my hair be until the end of July and then I will determine if I will get braids or weave. It just depends on how strong my hair line is..

Just give me some feed back, please..
Thanks

It sounds good to me, but I would also add something as a moisturizer. Something water based.

Or maybe a leave-in that is moisturizing. I prefer liquid leave ins or braids sprays personally, but that is only because they seem to work better with my other product layers.

The ORS olive grease I have never used, so I don't know if it has water in it or not. Most oil/grease products just aren't enough for moisture - at least not for me.

One good thing about braids, though, is that you can always moisturize w/o worrying about styling.

Yes, it definitely sounds like you need some moisture. The Mayo is an excellent deep conditioner but it contains protein. I'm also unfamiliar with the ORS grease, but it sounds as if your hair is in need of a water based moisturizer like HoneyDew said, and then you could seal it with some oil. Also you could throw in a moisturizing conditioner into your mix.

I recommend Paul MItchell's supercharged moisturizer for moisture. You can use that as a deep conditioner after the ors mayo protein treatment or anytime. You can buy this at a local drugstore like Walgreens or online.

Also, you need leave in moisturizer (creme or spray --- you're just using growth treatments and grease). A lot of women here like Neutrogena Triple Moisture for leave-in. I'm still looking for a good leave-in and haven't tried that, though.

Right now I'm using All Ways Oil Moisturizer (creme) and Premier Hydrant Spray (spray) ...

THANKS..
I WILL TRY THAT..
I AM JUST TRYING TO GET TOGETHER SOMETHING.
I AM JUST STARTING OUT AND JUST FEEL LIKE I MISSING A LOT.

ROFL....i think i need a lil bit of patience too..:lachen:

ITA with adding a water-based moisturizer and/or leave-in. :yep:

Otherwise, it looks okay to me! ;) The only thing you may want to experiment with is adding one conditioner wash day a week instead of two shampoo days. I find my hair stays softer if I shampoo only every other wash. However, if you’re exercising a lot, or live in a very humid climate, the twice-weekly shampoos are probably just fine if you are lathering up only once per wash.

OT: How do you like the ORS Uplifting Shampoo? When my sister moved out, she left a brand-new bottle of it behind, and I’ve been eyeing it with curiosity. I haven’t tried it yet because it requires a patch test, which makes me a little leery. TIA! :)

NTM is a great line for moisture since it's protein free (except for the foam and hot oil treatment I think. :look: ) I am a bit biased though since it's my staple line. I would reccomend the Silk Touch leave in cream and the DDC-Daily Deep conditioner. :yep:

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK...

Sorry it took so long, Yankgal007, but I had to wait until my shampoo day today to try the ORS shampoo (the patch test was fine). Unfortunately, I don’t think my hair liked it very much. :( *sigh* I had high-hopes because it has a creamy texture and nice, stimulating ingredients. :yep:

I'll tell you, that shampoo is some serious stuff!!! It cleaned my hair very well and had a nice rich lather. My hair actually felt like I had a clarifying treatment when I rinsed it (maybe it did  ). I followed up with an ORS Replenishing Pack, but my hair still felt rough. I applied some NTM Silk Touch leave-in, and my hair still didn't soften up...this is very unusual. I think I'll just S-Curl it in the morning.

I think this is a really good shampoo for my sister, who scalp produces a lot of oil and has very fine hair (which is probably why she bought it), or after a product overload with oil-based products :) , but I don’t think my hair type can handle it on the regular. I guess I’ll be giving the ill-gotten shampoo back to her. ;)

I think that might have left your hair with that "stripped" feeling because it is designed to be strong to remove calcium build up from their no lye relaxer and it also doubles as a neutralizing poo too. :look:

Most likely. :) The bottle does state it is designed for certain hair and scalp conditions. I definitely think it is a good shampoo to remove build up with the results I got. I don’t mind though because I can easily add moisture back in, and I hadn't clarified in about a month at any rate.

Yeah, and you can always use it as your 1st lather poo and then follow up with a moisturizing poo to further counter the drying effects. :)
