I started back self relaxing last week and used ORS Normal...I didn’t add oil to the relaxer…I didn’t have a protein treatment to put in after I rinsed the relaxer out either...**DISCLAIMER** I know I should have done both :wallbash:anyway, I left the relaxer in a little too long and now the newly relaxed hair is bone straight…the difference is so obvious…I can see and feel the two textures...has anyone else experienced this before?...will my hair start breaking at the demarcation line?...and if so, what are my options to stop it?....I really don’t want to do another BC :nono:…I did a light protein treatment yesterday with Keraphix...I’ve been using Ayurvedic powders to clean my hair for almost two years now and know they are good for strengthening but will this be enough?

Where did you apply the relaxer? Did you apply it to the new growth or previously relaxed hair as well?

Have you noticed any breakage since the relaxer? Which Ayurvedic powders are you using?

I only applied it to the new growth and that's the only part that's bone straight...I coated the previously relaxed part with oil...the rest of my hair still have lots of texture because I've never had it relaxed bone straight before.

I don't think it's breaking now, just the normal shedding (I think/hope)...I use amla, bhrami, shikakai, bhringra, and neem (sometimes)...not all together, I usually mix 2-3 at a time

How are you wearing it now? Try to wear it in a style that requires low manipulation. Keep it moisturized, paying particular attention to the line of demarcation. I would do a hardcore protein treatment in about a week or even sooner if you begin to see breakage.

I washed it yesterday and haven't done anything with it...I usually wear twistouts and buns but I think I'm gonna stick with buns until I know that I won't get any breakage at the demarcation line.

I agree with Amwcah, protein, low manipulation and moisturizing are probably going to be your best bet. A good DC couldn't hurt either. Are you taking any kind of vitamins?

It sounds like you have a really good stash of Ayurvedic goodies! :-)
