 I just got a relaxer about an hour ago. When I was washing it out I lost A LOT of hair and when I started to comb my hair the same thing was happening :wallbash:. I was having some burning at the front. What's happening?

I'm sorry, sweetie. I can imagine your trauma. Did you neutralize thoroughly?

eta: I just looked at your fotki, and of course you neutralized. Hmmm.... was you hair in braids or some other protective style? Had you been combing your hair out, before your touck-up? Cuz it might just be an accumulation of already shed hairs.

I'm sorry this is happening. I don't have any expert advice, I just wanted to offer some emotional support.

Hmm well I barely combed because I didn't want to irritate my scalp too much. My new growth was so tough and curled up I was afraid to mess with it.

Has it stopped coming out? I agree with washing with the neutralizer again. I hope it stops! (((( hugs)))))

So that might be it, then. This happens to me sometimes, because I do braid-outs and go with out combing for a while sometimes. Then, when I get a perm, I'm horrified, but think about it: how many days had you not combed, multiplied by the 50-100 hairs you lose naturally everyday.

Also, neutralize again. I'm all about neutralizing, esp since I learned all that stuff about ph. Then, deep condition with something moisturizing.

Relaxing is so complicated. I just neutralized and i'm going to moisturize a lot.
