Help with workout hair not growing

I workout 4 to 5 times a week and after the first day my hair looks a mess from the sweat. Along with that I have thin edges and it does not seem like my hair is growing at all. Please help with products and a regime that will work for the dryness and growth.

Could someone suggest a good stylist in the DC or Northern Virginia white or black? I would like to try the Phyto relaxer.
 
Hmm, there are a lot of things that could potentially help, but it's hard to say without knowing what isn't working for you right now. What's your hair type, length and current regimine? And do you work out before work or after?

I workout about 4 times a week and I've resigned myself to the fact that my hair isn't always going to be fab, but it doesn't have to look horrible either.
 
When I am working out that is when my hair is growing the best. I would suggest you step away from relaxers if you have problem edges.
 
Your hair should grow better when you workout. Have you tried rinsing your hair after workouts? Because of the salt it contains, sweat that dries on your hair does not provide an optimal condition for your hair.
 
I wash my hair once a week. I have tried Carol's daughter, Phyto, Nixon, Design and Hair doctor products. I have very course dry hair.
 
What has helped me is washing my hair twice a week (to get rid of the salt and dryness). Deep conditioning after every wash and a good leave in has also helped me tremendously. I think the problem is in the regimen and products. I've found that not all products work for my hair and a long deep conditioning treatment really revives it.

When I was relaxed, I washed my hair at least twice a week when working out. The sweat is good for your hair but not the salt from the sweat. There is no use adding products if you are not keeping your scalp clean and moisturized. I would also suggest wearing low maintence styles. I did a lot of braid outs and updos because I sweated a lot during my workouts. How do you wear your hair?
 
Ear length bob. Last year a stylist in Atlanta gave me color oneday and the very next day gave me a relaxer. Over 3/4 of my hair came out in the salon and she did not tell me. My hair was so long on the top she covered it up. Since the damage my hair has not growen as fast as it use to.
 
I would probably incorporate another wash (conditioner only since you say your hair is dry) into the week's regimine. I've never had problems with sweat itself, but I have found that after 2 heavy workouts I have to use more product to get my hair to look presentable, which causes bad buildup. Rinsing after every one doesn't work for me, because the stress from styling wet hair is worse than the effects of perspiration.

Also, you didn't say how you're styling your hair, but given that the edges are thinning, I'd advise against styles that stress that area. Lots of people can wet bun or pony after a conditioner wash - I can't. I either roller set or do a braidout.
 
I workout 3-4 times a week and I have to shampoo 2 to 3 times a week or the salt from the sweat dries my hair out terribly and my scalp itches. I have resigned myself to low maintenance styles such as buns. I can't wear my hair straight as often as I would like to...but I feel that doing my hair for a special occasion is alot easier than trying to get in that special dress because I haven't worked out. I also find the exercise helps with my hair growth because of the increased blood flow plus it reduces 'stress'...which can cause your hair to break also.
 
You need to wash (or rinse) and condition your hair more often if you're working out. Beautiful, healthy hair can't grow out of hair follices caked in gunk and sweat.
