HELP with THINNING HAIRLINE!

I've just suscribed!! Yay!!

Anyone have suggestions to help my hairline catch back itself??

My hair is long and thick! and a hairdresser told me that it is the weight of my hair that is causing my front hair line to thin out..and receed! (yikes)

I started using BeeMine a few months ago to no avail.

Not to mention my hairstyles are limited so no matter how I try to switch it up..my hair ends up pulled back in a ponytail again.

Also...I believe the relaxer is speeding up the process but because of the texture of my hair I have to relax every 6 weeks or my hair begins to break and fall out!

I already have a big forehead and my hairline shows NO signs of stopping!!

Maybe you could wear it up more often, to keep the weight off your scalp. Sorry I don't have any other suggestions. But I just wanted to say your hair is gorgeous.

I don't know if you would be willing to cut a narrow bang in the front to take the weight off that portion of the hairline. If you keep it narrow, it will blend with the rest of the hair and not have to hang in your face.

Also, you could try other growth aids like Mega-tek. Some people swear by other oils like plain castor oil or Vatika. I find that there are very few really good solutions to thinning that work reliably. Hopefully, something will work for you!

Girl my biggest fear is a hairdresser armed with a pair of scissors!! LOL but its definitely somethin 2 think abt! thanks 4 da suggestions!

Do you have any close-up pics of the edges? Some folks are using castor oil.

Also be sure to join FlowerHair's waistlength and beyond thread and introduce yourself. It's floating around somewhere.

Dr. Miracle has the nape balm and an array of other treatments. I have used the hot gro and nape balm and I saw results literally within a few days.:yep:

You should check out Loveya4ever's album (http://members.fotki.com/redhotlala/about/). Her hair looks similar to yours, so she might be able to give you some tips on your hairline. I think she might be a member of this board too. :look:

I also suggest massaging your edges. Also, if you are wearing a wrap at night, you may want to cut back on the number of nights you use it. This wreaked havoc on my edges.

Other than that I think wearing your hair up more will help!

I wear the pony daily too, with a side part and its taken its toll, but if I relaxed that fragile hair (and its super fragile) it would be gone by now I know it

I have been working on being more gentle with it and oiling it every day/night

I have a big forehead too, on new years I checked my whole family's hair line, my mother, my sister, my nieces, my nephew and we all have the same shape and my nephew's is the most pronounced version of all of our hairlines-so I know this was in the cards for me no matter what, I already knew my daughter had it, never paid attention to my family's hairlines until I was around them new years eve

is there some way you could not relax that area /or give it something extra to help strengthen it if you are going to relax it, or extra protect it during relaxing?

Hi divine! and welcome!

I popped in here to read other's responses about a thinning hairline...because I'm working on my edges also---HOWEVER, I was sidetracked by your BEAUTIFUL HAIR!!

Anyway...currently I'm using BeeMine, which has helped others on this forum, however, I haven't experienced much success, but at the same time, I haven't been consistent.
Nevertheless, some others have had much success using BeeMine.

When my edges were getting sparse I started relaxing them every other relaxer. That break really gave them time to strengthen. Also I tried to keep brushing to a minimum.

I still like MN for my edges, you may want to try Mega-Tek. It's popular too.

Welcome!

Just stopped by to say your hair is beautiful. It is so encouraging to see more and more relaxed heads retaining that type of length.

OK you know at some point you will have to spill the beans on your regimen.

I recommend using castor oil or coconut oil for thinning edges every single night or 2x a day for the course of 12 wks or more and watch the difference.
