It would help if you told everyone how you currently care for your hair, which products you use, and how often you use them.

Nice pic!
My hair has gotten much thicker since taking b-5 and a multi vitamin. I would recommend the basics, avoiding direct heat on your hair, spacing out your touchups, protecting your hair with a silk scarf at night, keeping moisturized and using a protein treatment once a month. I would also recommend putting together a routine. Try to pay attention to which products work well for your hair so you can make it part of your routine. In the meantime to give your hair a fuller appearance I would recommended rollersets after you wash and using Nexxus headress leave in which makes the hair look thicker. Lastly in my experience getting a light trim 1-2x a year makes my hair look bouncy and thick, when my ends are very uneven or straggly I notice my hair doesn't have nearly as much bounce or appear as thick as when it's more even and everyone notices my length more, but I'm always careful to try and avoid the scissor happy stylist.

I hope some of this is helpful to you, good luck!

I agree. We could tell you what you could do to help...but if you are doing something that is causing the problem, then any new product wouldn't have any effect until you've corrected what you may be doing wrong.

Hey guys, thanks for getting back to me so soon. The thing is i dont really have a routine cos i started growing my hair late 2001 with braids. It was natural till last year august when i permed it. My stylist used motions but later switched to arosci. I used to go to her for washing and relaxing with treatment and trimming in each case. I also grease it with stuff like african pride super sure gro quite frequently and thats about it. She also used to blow dry and use the irons but after i read from this forum that that wasnt too advisable, i've started using roller sets.
Hope that info is adequate but ask if you need to know anything else.
PS. also thanks for the compliment on the pic, emeraldsky.
Thanks a lot once again.

I'd say first of all stop greasing your hair. If you want something to lubricate your scalp try using an oil or a cream like profectiv Root Health http://www.strengthofnature.com There is this misconception with a lot of people that I know that grease their scalps that it keeps it moisturised, probably because it's just sitting there and not being absorbed is to why they always feel it's moist. The scalp will drink up the oil and sometimes it may feel dry as soon as the next day, so you have to use it frequently.

Maybe it's the past use of irons and blow dryers that have thinned out the hair. You could trim it, but unless it really bad like dry frizzy ends, or splits I'd say get a mini trim to start off with, but I think it's best that you accumulate as much hair care knowledge and lets the other parts of the hair catch up. It doesn't grow all even anyway.

Try doing protective styles like a bun or something so your hair isn't in your way and you don't have to see think about it. When left alone it usually flourishes. I've found this usually works best.

How often do you wash/conditon?

Do you do protein treatments?

Do you Deep Condition weekly?

What dressings do you put on your hair and the ends?

Well i wash / condition probably monthly or a bit more than that. I dont think i use any protein treatments cos i dont really know of any mixtures that i could make. Also i dont know how to deep condition. I would appreciate any suggestions especially those that have very regular / easy to get ingredients so i can get started asap. I've heard of honey, mayo, vegetable oil and egg yolk (which i have) but i dont even know how to combine and use them.

All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.
