As some of you ladies may have read previously, I am in the process of growing my hair out again after the devastating experience with Affirm Mild Lye Relaxer. So here's my story:
September 2004, my hair was relaxed with Precise No Lye after relaxing for two years with a Lye Relaxer (Mizani to Affirm). I recently had a touch up April 2005, which I retouched almost 3 inches of new growth. It didn't matter, because I had a big chop of nearly 4".
I'm now trying to incorporate a regimen to get my hair back on track. I tried vitamins to no avail and I cannot do daily CON washes because I am a full-time student and hold a full-time job. I wash my hair every week (2x) with diluted Elucence Moisturizing Benefits Shampoo, then I deep condition with Queen Helene Cholesterol mixed with Mizani Moisturefuse and add Natural Shea butter to the ends and sit under the dryer for about 15 minutes. After rinsing, I follow with Elucence Silk Hydrating Elixir and roller-set (under the dryer). Once my hair is dry, I usually spray a little water and seal with Shea Butter.
For a daily regimen, every night, I Surge and apply a little Shea Butter, wrap and tie down with satin scarf.
Through all of this, I feel that I still have too much hair in my comb and there's more breakage than I would like. Does anyone have any suggestions or modifications I should do to my regimen?
