It's been about 19 weeks since I had my last helping of creamy crack! I decided to stretch because I relaxed while I was in the hospital for a month on bedrest, and my blood pressure plummeted while I was trying to rinse it out in the shower! I can LOL now for almost killing myself because I had to do something with those naps... but I really thought I was bout to die!

But anway, I wear a satin doo-rag every night, and for the past few years I always have. I've never really had thick and long edges, but now they are going bald! I don't know what to do or use. I sleep too wild and nothing but the doo-rag stays on my head during the night!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Hope you're feeling better. Can't help with the edges problem, although i think MT helped mine a bit.

My edges were thinning when I was using a satin scarf and I couldn’t figure out why. I decided to use a silk scarf instead and now my edges are thickening up. Sometimes I felt the satin scarf snagging on my edges and that may have been the cause. Try a silk scarf and see if that helps.

How many weeks/moths post partum are you? I assume pp because you said bed rest. It might be post partum shedding. I had a post about a month ago, my whole hairline was thinning/shedding. PM me and I can send you the link. If you're not PP, then ignore this post :look:

You can try putting castor oil or ayurvedic oils on your edges. Also, Karen's Body Beautiful and the Jane Carter Solution has growth serums.

You can also try the Essential Oil Blend for Hair Growth that Nonie used for her edges:

1. Thyme Essential Oil-2 drops
2. Atlas Cedarwood Essential Oil-2 drops
3. Lavendar Essential Oil-3 drops
4. Rosemary Essential Oil-3 drops
5. Jojoba Oil-1/2 teaspoon
6. Grapeseed Oil-4 teaspoons

Add the first four ingredients into a small glass jar. Mix well. Now add the remaining two ingredients. Mix thoroughly.

Massage this mixture into your scalp for at least two minutes every night. Wrap your head in a warm towel after treatment.

I've worn a satin/silk scarf everyday for two years and never had any problems with shorned edges. But recently I stopped wearing scarves on my head because I'd been getting frequent headaches and I could only attribute it to the scarves. Now I safety pin my scarf to my pillow, put my hair in two low twists, clip them up with those flat clips you have to press, and sleep like that. No headaches and no friction on my edges :). Some natural things that stimulate hair growth are:

Rosemary
Sage
Aloe Vera
Brahmi powder/Oil
Amla Powder/Oil
Henna
Coconut Oil

rosemary is particularly good at stimulating growth when mixed with sage. You could buy rosemary and sage oil and put mix them in a carrier oil (like coconut oil) and put them on your edges nightly, or you could get rosemary and sage leaves, brew them, and use them as a rinse to promote all over growth stimulation after you wash your hair. Just a suggestion :).

Oh my goodness- I have noticed the same thing. I switched to a 100% silk scarf and my edges are coming back, between the scarf and castor oil I am so happy to be making progress in this area.

after I stopped relaxing (and was transitioning) I noticed my hairline became fuller...baby fine even hairs grew I did not know I had....(hintity hint hint)

On the Topical Tip....Perhaps some MT or a massage in a little JBCO. (Works Wonders):yep: Or a Little Conditioner mixed with a little JBCO.

And as far as something staying in place all night and Gentle on the Hair, this has been a life saver.

I Personally think they're a little 'pricey' but worth it in the long run.:yep:

OMG, thank you for posting this. I was looking for something exactly like this but didn't know the correct term to search for. I'm definitely going to buy one.

ceebee: Gurrrlll....You Will Absolutely Love it!

I was wearing 100% Silk Scarves, but was still waking up 2-3 times a night to re-tie.

This one stays in place. ALL NIGHT

At first I was 'skeptical' about all the good stuff I was hearing about Prettywrap from the Ladies in the Use1Buy1, but, I broke down and bought one.

Now I have "Several" they honestly work.:yep: Enjoy!

Yes. I have one on my head right now. It stays on all night, and it has helped me retain my edges. I got this scarf when someone posted a sale. It was $9.99. I don't know how much they are now. My hair also retains moisture better with this scarf.
