Hey Ladies !

i have been here since August and i've soaked up alot of information and i am currently in the process of stretching, im 8 weeks post and my roots are very very tight curls, they are about the size of a spring inside a pen. I have decided to relax this weekend because my hair is now breaking:wallbash:, I am using MT which def. thickend my hair and made it stronger, i DC 3x's a weeks so it wont be dry but my hair is saying ENOUGH. :lachen:
im also putting pics of my hair from before so you ladies have an idea why my hair is still bleached... LOL i know it was 2 years ago and its still there..

here are pics of the NG...before i blew out my hair...todays breakage after blowing out the roots (first time i used heat in over a month)...and my hair after the blow out.
it grows in layers and the front is the shortest with bangs that are growing out and i havent trimmed the back since July before LHCF...i HATE TRIMS i only S&D

my question is....what length am i??? and do i need to trim my hair to make it even??

Great progress!!!! :yay: your SL, You do have to trim it to make it even but I say let it grow some more

You are doing a good job. You are past shoulder length but not quit apl. Don't worry about the layers, you will be bsl in no time and can start mini trimming to get a blunt cut. If you plan to use heat often you might have to trim earlier. Happy hair growing.

yea im just like you.. i got texlaxed hair tho.. i just got some MT and this week is the 3rd week ive been using.. i use it like 2 or 3 times a week.. how often do you (@ topic starter)..

oh and find a routine .. u need deep condiioner, shampoo (moisture and protein), clarifying shampoo, conditioner (same), oils, leave in conditioner, hmm .. someone help me out.. i think im missing some steps. wash once a week and condition, clarify once a month, deep condition twice a month, leave after fresh washed damp hair, add moisture using butters and or creams and seal ends with oils..

the triff is dont use products with petroletum jelly or mineral oil and they're in just about every product .. i also was told pink lotion has silicone and thats bad for the hair too.. now its up to you to find the products and routine for YOUR HAIR's NEEDS yay!!! i hope this helps

yayy thanks. i havent decided when i want to trim yet because i want my hair long for my birthday ill be 21 :) so i think i will wait till then

Yeah, your progress is great! And I agree with Tanisha. I would let it grow some more before evening it out. Great job!!!

(Are those Scuffettes in the background? Love those!! So comfy!!)

I think your progress is great! It appears that you were a little below chin length, and now you are at shoulder length! Kudos to you! Keep up the good work!

Good job. You're definitely shoulder length but well on your way to APL.
Trim when you are ready to. My b-day is in December too so enjoy.

DCing 3x a week is too much protein...it will be too drying. I would err on the side of moisture.

Cathy Howse's regimen (Ultra Black Hair) is a good regimen to start with and then take it from there.

See my fotki.....I started about where you are and I'm pleased with my progress. When my ends started getting too see-thru I found a stylist who understood my goals and promised to only take off the see-thru.

If you see a lot of little short hairs in the sink, its probably time to take off a 1/4"...no more. Then continue with your S&Ds.

Keep at it you have nice NG.

i DC with cholesterol only moisturizing no protein anymore, the MT gives me plenty and i have to counter it with the extra moisture and DC's

that looks like great progress to me! It has only been three months since August. It took me from March 07 to Sept. 08 to go from chin length to APL. I think you are coming along just fine, especially since you are growing out color.

You don't have to trim to get a blunt cut if you don't like that look. I always find it so amusing when people say to trim hair that is healthy just to get a blunt look. My hair does not naturally grow in a blunt direction, and I don't ever suggest trimming just to get that. If you have straggly ends or split ends, then that makes sense. Otherwise, what's the point?

Anyway, I think you're making great progress. Keep up the good work.

It really does look like you made a lot of progress. Your ends don't look that bad to me, but the ladies who have posted already are very knowledgeable. I just wanted to say good job!
