, ne way i'm trying to put to gether a plan for the summer. my hair is about chin length and 4a/ b i think. i have straight ends due to pressing it so i have decided to stop pressing until the fall so that i can get a trim. i plan to keep my hair braided with extentions. i try to drink minimum of 8 glasses of water and i think i'm going back to pantene shampoo once i get some $$ ( hence tha name
grin.gif
)i really don't know how much growth i get normally but i remeber once when i had singles i got around 1-2 inces of growth. i think my main problem is breakage. can anyone give me some advice on vitamins and products to help my hair. also do them vitamins have any sideffects? i was thinking of getting prenatal vitamins because i heard they help you nails hair and skin. but i also heard some of these vitamins can cause acne and weight gain

(AAAAAhh) that isn't cool for me. can you offer some advice. thankx

O.k you mentioned breakage, lets nipp that in the bud first. Go to Sally's and purchase Aphoghee treatment for damaged hair and then a good moisturizing conditioner like Cholesterol, use this for deep conditioning after you rinse out the Aphoghee. Once you complete those 2 steps the rest is easy. Oil your hair ( especially the ends) with Virgin olive oil and then maybe Vaseline on the ends ( tip from Adrienne) to lock in moisture everyday. Then rinse daily and wash at least once a week, conditioner wash when you are not shampooing your hair. Wear protective styles after you rinse and moisturize. You should see major improvement within a week or two. Good luck!

In addition to KKing's advice, I would also quickly add this... sleep with your hair covered in a satin/silk bonnet or scarf, or even use a satin pillowcase. These measures will give your hair that added protection while you're asleep

okay i went to the sally site and found that aphogee stuff, but it says this you should only apply it if you are aporfessional. i'm scared will i be okay if i use this?

Hi Ineedmoney...Love the name, Im in the same boat right now!!!

Anyway!

I would get some Biotin, Hair vitamins( I get the kind by GNC...ummm, UltraNourishHair....or if my money is low, I get any old kind) and Evening Primrose Oil( makes the hair growth come in softer, in my opinion and it helps with that EVIL PMS!!!)

Now, alot of the ladies here take MSM(which helps your hair stay in its root longer...if I am wrong someone correct me) but unfortunatly for me, it made my already acne-prone skin freak out....so I had to stop taking it!!

Well, Im hardly one of the hair gurus here...but Im sure that one of them will stop by and drop some knowledge on you!

HTH!!!!

Is your hair currently in braids, right now? If not, don't be afraid to use the Aphogee.... Follow the directions very carefully. Your hair will definitely get hard once you sit under the dryer or if you don't have a dryer, you can use a hand held blow dryer to dry the hair. Make sure you rinse all of the aphogee out of your hair and then use the moisturizing conditioner. I hope you purchase the moisturizing conditioner that comes with the Aphogee treatment....

You definitely need to moisturize your hair after doing the treatment or your hair will be hard and brittle...

it's in braids now, i got invisibles with curly hair(interlock i think some of ya'll call these things
smirk.gif
)but when ever i get my hair done i'm plotting( my homies say i don't plan i plot or scheme can you belive that!) my next doo. i have had these in for atlest 3 or 4 wks and it's time for them to go!!!!! it will either be singles or more invisbles. not sure yet. can you use any ole moisturizing conditioner with the aphogee treatment?

Welcome,
No you really should use cholesterol, or the balancing moisterizing conditioner that Aphogee makes. I would also suggest you stop wasting your money on Pantene hair products, they contain alcohols which is very drying to the hair, even the new line for women of color-but it's a slight imrpovement, that may also be why your having breakage. Try Avalon (I haven't tried this yet no Sodium Lauryl/laureth sulfate=drys hair out) Aubrey organics(very good but less lather) Island, or sea weed protein conditioners and shampoo's. I also love Matrix biolage sham and detangling cond-but it has SLS in it so I'm giving it up.

lucia,
thanks for the advice. i'm not using pantene currently but i did a while back and it worked well then so i was thinking of going back. i'm using nexus's mostiuzing shampoo right now and lekair cholestoral(i think?) would that work with the aphogee? btw sorry if i'm asking to many questions.i feel a little pesky.

ineedmoney,
I think that could work but just to be safe make sure you use the Aphogee balancing moisturizer (blue and white, I always use them together, and follow the directions carefully every 6 weeks minimum no sooner. You can follow with the cholesterol or your fav cond'r.
