Just the basics:
Moisture Shampoo
Moisture Conditioner
Protein Conditioner
Moisture with a touch of protein leave-in
Moisture-based (with water being the first ingredient) daily moisturizer
Oil for sealing (olive, coconut, etc)
Some form of protective style (buns, braids, weaves, etc.)

Great suggestions.

Also figure out a weekly routine such as:

Shampoo 1x week
Deep Conditioner 2x week
Moisturize daily
Style (Protective or other)
Protein or Reconstructor 1x a month
Relax between 10 and 12 weeks (if relaxed)

I can honestly say that your hair will probably break in braids because you cant get moisture to the hair as much. But braids are a good protective style. If you plan to get rid of the highlights anyway, then the highlights breaking away probably wont be such a bad thing.

Thanks for the compliment.

im thinking about getting braids do you think that would be a bad thing since i have highlights

Using growth aids is a personal preference. I dont have a problem with my rate of growth or have thinning hair, so I dont feel I need it therefore I dont use it. I understand it can speed up the growth rate but I just believe in getting there with good eating habits and exercise. I used OCT for about 3 months. It was pretty good. If you think Megatek will help you, then go for it.
