Hello Lovely Ladies

I was wondering if you guys could give me some insight on how to trim my natural hair? I am in this journey to better healthier hair. I have a new great reggie and I plan on trimming tomorrow. Could you give me your thoughts on how to trim, how offend, what techniques & how much? Also how should my ends feel after they are snipped?

Thanks in advance.
Love & Peace

your ends should feel almost as smooth as the rest of your hair. if they're scraggly or rough when you run your fingers over them, then your pH is either off or your ends need to be trimmed

some of the ladies on here twist their hair in small sections and then snip off the ends of each section. others straighten their hair so they can easily see where splits start. personally, i just take a small section of hair, moisturize, smooth a few times to get a sense for where it starts getting scraggly and i snip

the other thing to keep in mind is the kind of scissors being used. you want to use something very sharp (not the scissors the kids use for arts and crafts ). i get my hair scissors from the dollar store so that i can replace them frequently (usually after 2 or 3 uses). other people invest in high quality professional shears and use them indefinitely. it's really just a matter of personal preference

hope that helps somewhat :yep:

I straighten my hair to trim, but there is a really good video by Haircrush on youtube on how she cuts her hair. I think that next time I trim I gonna try her way.

I do the pony tail cut on natural hair soaking wet hair. A-line bob cut, it is hard to know if you have a bunch of splits or knots on natural hair, so go by your hair strand thickness. If you have fine strands trim small amounts often. I trim monthly, and cut every three months.

Thick strands (each strand is thicker than a piece of thread) trim once per year seems fine.
