hair bored
Please help ladies! I need your expertise!
I have a friend who's hair is dry and brittle from relaxing and coloring. For the past 4 years, I was telling her about all of our techniques, minimal heat, stretching relaxers, dustings, etc., and her hair was flourishing! It was so long (bra strap), sleek, bouncy, and very healthy!
Well, she insisted on coloring it blond about a year and a half ago (she has a thing with Beyonce, I tried to explain that's a lacefront erplexed), and slowly but surely, the color has broken her hair off, and made it very dry to the touch. What's worse, she perms it every 4-6 weeks and won't put any type of moisture in it b/c she thinks that it makes her hair heavy. She's the kind of person that has always had long hair, and doesn't understand why her hair is breaking off now (it's currently shoulder length). She also uses no-lye relaxers, and I'm trying to convince her to switch to lye b/c her hair is so dried out.
Sooooo.....can I get you ladies' suggestions on a good relaxer, treatments, and light daily moisturizes to nurse her hair back to health? She's not at the point of no return just yet, but she will be if someone doesn't do an intervention! I've finally got her to the point where she'll listen to me, so I need advice fast b/c we're going to do her hair on Monday! Thanks.
