I think I'm going to get my hair pressed. Whats the best moisturizer I should be using daily. I need lots of help to deal with my natural hair. I'm on my way to the hair salon. I tried reading the natural threads but I became overwhelmed. I don't know what kind of hair I have or even if that's important. I just took it out of braids. Here is a pic of my hair
Thanks in advance.

There really isn't any real "instant" moisturizer. At the begining of my hair journey, it took me at least 6 - 8 weeks of serious deep conditioning, 2 -3 times a week, to get my moisture levels up in my hair. That being said, a really good DC is Silk Elements Mega Silk Mega Moisturizing Conditioner. I don't moisturize daily. When I wash/co-wash, I leave some conditioner in my hair and use a diluted conditioner (whatever I co-wash with) spray (1:3, con:water) in a spray bottle as I style. I seal with a mixture of coconut, hemp and wheat germ oils. My hair stays moisturized between co-washes. My current favorite co-wash/leave-in conditioner is GVP Nexxus Moisturizing Conditioner. It's a fantastic leavin-in and co-wash. For porosity control and added shine, I use John Freida Clear Glaze.

Steps:
1. wash or co-wash
2. add conditioner for detangling - GVP Nexxus
3. detangle and rinse
4. add John Frieda Clear Glaze and leave on for about 3 minutes, rinse thoroughly
5. add GVP Nexxus - don't rinse out
6. style as usual, adding diluted GVP Nexxus as needed to re-wet
7. seal with oil

@taetae

have you gotten a chance to work with your natural texture for a while yet? I know for me its quite hard:yep: to infuse that optimal level of moisture back in the hair after braids if i go straight to straightened hair

any chance you could take a few weeks (or so) to treat and baby your hair first?
