Help! Fake Hair Brands Selection

Ladies, I need your help. I know nothing about wigs or weave hair since I have never purchased one and they aren't my personal choice. Now, I must Mea Culpa

My sister is going through a health crisis where she only has hair in patches at this time...more on top. Since it is winter she wants to wear a partial weave, half wig, or a "U" wig I think). She came to me as the the "hair care guru" about wig hair textures and a good place to buy.

I KNOW NOTHING. Cost is not a problem but she wants AA texture 4A/4B?? hair. What weave texture would this be....I hear words thrown about like Remy, Brazilian, Indian, and European but I really don't have a clue to what they mean. She would like to have wig piece that will allow her scalp to breathe and not cover the top and front where there is currently hair. She states that she has "no desire to have Beyonce hair or anything on the Housewives of Atlanta."

Her remaining hair is curly natural which she just washes and uses a mositurizing curl cream. The hair is brownish/black in color but use of dye is not an option for her.

She also has tiny peanut head! Would appreciate some guidance on hair weave textures and reliable vendors. Is there such a thing as 4a/4b texture fake hair?

Thanks in advance!

Go check out blackhairmedia's forums and search around. Right now I'm wearing LaJay as a protective style. Check youtube for reviews. Its a lot of hair and I had to cut and thin her out a little bit. Also there are a LOT of tutorials for u-part wigs on youtube. Hope this helps. :yep:

@thickness. Thank you responding but is there one type Brazilian, Remy....that is more afro textured than another?
All weaving hair is either Chinese or Indian origin. The names they give the hair type is usually how the hair is processed to mimic a certain texture. The term Remy is used to describe the grade of hair. I am not a weave expert but I get a lot of info on blackhairmedia (BHM). When researching how various textures look, go to youtube and type in "kinky curly weave". You will see LOTS of videos on various hair brands/textures. They will also usually tell you where the hair was purchased and how the hair has held up to daily styling, conditioning, combing, etc. I do know that a lot of people purchase hair and wigs from vendors on aliexpress. Be wary because some of the hair can be total crap. Again, BHM is your best bet. Those women know weaves.:yep:

If her hair is falling out she might want to stick to wigs and avoid weaves/braids or anything that puts tension on her hair because that could make the situation worse.

This is what I was thinking too. When my hair goes through the shedding phase because of my PCOS, I braid it up and wig it. I think it could be a good choice for your sister because she'll have a variety of styles to choose from without putting stress on her actual hair and scalp.

I wear both, and for her situation she should get a wig, that way she can take care of her hair underneath everyday. She can get either a lace front, or full lace wig. I order mine from lacewigsfront.com, they are pretty reasonable. I agree, the weaves will put alot of tension on her hair, making matters worse. Hope this helps......
