My daughter has bugged me to post here and ask for ideas for a sophisticated looking updo for her prom on Saturday. She usually just teases me about being on "my forum" Now she's looking for help and guess where she turns!

Her hair is natural, 3a, apl. Her gown is white and trimmed on straps and back with rhinestones....very "red carpet".

Any ideas??? Any salon recommendations in Lawrenceville, GA or nearby?

well you should tell us how she normally wears her hair, to give us some fields to play with.
I think she should go for a princess look I'll look for some pics and post them.. I also think you should try to keep her air centered aroound her face since you said there is a design on the back, which shouldn't be covered.
also google some sites
i found http://www.latest-hairstyles.com/gallery/prom/half-updos/

I hopr this helps I graduated a few years ago so IDK what the trends are. but I always loved simple and classy

your could maybe get the curlformers and do those curls in her hair and pin it up and then leave little sprigs (if that is a word) out. I think That would look beautiful in her hair.

Thanks for the link! I agree...the princess look is so nice! She wears so many styles. She does a curly/spiral pony or I will flat iron it straight for her. (she better join this board before college, cause momma won't be there to do her hair!)
Thanks again!

I totally think Curlformers would be the answer!
:drunk: Good Luck!

Funny you should suggest the curlformers.....I purchased the kit last week at Sally's! I have been checking the board for results with naturals.

We are just in from last minute shopping.....I couldn't lift a curlformer or a transformer if my life depended on it. I'm so tired I can't see straight :spinning:

We made a last minute appointment with a local hairdresser, hopefully we can get the results my daughter is seeking!

Thanks ladies for all your help.....we'll post the results!
