Hey everyone! I've been lurking for about 2 weeks and couldn't resist joining any longer!
My name is Share and I'm 17 years old. Like any girl who played with barbies and were into princesses, I wanted long straight hair.
My mom did a pretty good job with my hair until she fell in the hype of perming when i was about 9 (i think? My memory sucks.) I don't blame her because I wanted straight hair and she was a single mom with 5 girls. Nevertheless, It wasn't taken care of like relaxed hair should have been...well actually it wasn't taken care of at all. My hair was neck length, not long after.
When i started middle school, one of my older sisters started to learn how to do hair. She slowly started transtioning me and kept me braided up all the time. By the 8th grade, I had full healthy neck/shoulder length hair. It probably would've been longer but the only time my hair was washed and moisterized was when my sister did my hair which was every 2 weeks. I had no clue how to take care of my hair. I didn't even know the basics most are taught, like greasing the scalp and such.
8th grade graduation (13-14ish)
My sister started acting irritated about doing my hair all the time so i started doing my own hair, I was going to be a high schooler after all
Surprisingly, It wasn't a complete disaster. My hair breakage/growth ratio were about the same and my hair didn't get shorter or longer. I managed to make it to full shoulder length by my self. I was still a straight freak though. If i had one nap, I would restraighten my whole head.
My sister started doing my hair again junior year and I had weaves constantly. My hair grew a lot but I recently moved to Georgia from Michgan and have to depend on myself again. I have decided to use my brain and use the resource I'm lucky to have. The internet.
I've been all around and luckily my first stop was Nappurality(sp?) where I learned to love and appreciate my hair. I'm not all about straight hair now. I LOVE my natural hair and I plan on working with it this summer. I've been taking notes and will continue. I don't plan to be natural all the time though, I still like straight hair, weaves, and pin curls.
Next was BHM when nappurality closed for maintenance. They were alright, but i definitely like it here better!
Yep! That's my simplified hair story. Im APL with thin, see through ends but dont have any straight pics. Here are some pics of my current hair and texture, take sometime last week:
I wasn't looking too hot in this one
I suck at taking pictures of myself. I was trying to find a good angle of my hair.
Sorry no dry afro. I didnt want to have to deal with it later so i braided it. This has Granier Fructis sleek and shine leave-in in.
I think i'm 4a? I dont know...my hair is retarded. The curls and waves are lose but the texture is thick and kinky. More pics in siggy
And i have newbie questions. What does Niko's cousins and yt mean?
Thanks if you read everything, and if you didn't, well I dont blame you
AND NOONIE, I STOLE YOU SIGNATURE IDEA Share of Slytherin I'll change it if you want me too though
