I am having an issue. How do you know when God is speaking to you and it's not coming from man?

For me it is when I have total peace about a situation.

Then you still have peace about the situation. Understand that you can have feelings of doubt but your doubt feelings don't become actions of doubt until you start to do things contrary to what God has already told you /assured you of. Satan is always going be whispering/talking/sending people to you to try and get you to go astray from what God has already set forth.

This is exactly what I do. I do not cut my hears off from people but I take it back to God and said," Did you hear what they told me...." If I have peace with it I still confirm with God and if I am not sure I fast and pray specifically about that. This is one of the reason I fast and pray as a lifestyle for preventive maintanance.
