Headaches?

I'm thinking that msm may be the reason behind my headaches too! I get headaches pretty frequently anyway, not migraines, but annoying and painful nonetheless, but the day after I started taking msm, I had the worst headache EVE! And I had no medicine with me. I again had a very painful headache the next day and the msm was the only thing that had changed. However, after the first week, everything seems to be back to normal. Maybe it's something you just have to get used too.

How much did you start off taking? I started off taking a lot too.

yes, i get them if i use hair products with sodium benzoate in them. i can't use anything with that in it. i get headaches like someone has beat me over the head with a bat. sulfur allergies run in my family and sodium benzoate is related to sulfur. is sulfur in MSM? you may be having an allergic reaction to something.

I had headaches with MSM, someone else posted that you should take Vitamin C with it. I take 1000mg a day of MSM (capsule form) and 500mg of vitamin C (chewables) and I get no more headaches

wow! i was getting headaches and couldnt tell what it was!!! i never thought it could be MSM but i started taking it 2 weeks ago! so it could very well be that!!

YES!! wow, this site really is great! i can tell you, ever since i've joined, my hair really has grown. my head itches (and i read it can mean your hair is growing, which it is), feels tender at times and i also get headaches...
i just wash my hair more often and that seems to soothe the itching. i drink plenty water as it is, i guess i should try drinking more to help with headaches.

I had headaches for 2-3 days after starting MSM. I started by taking about 500mg and increased my dose gradually.

I have some information that I found on taking MSM, please look below!
Some people who dive into MSM wholeheartedly may experience a toxic headache as the body eliminates into the bloodstream old toxic matter that the cells have been retaining for years. I feel good taking two tablespoons a day, but considering the toxic headache I experienced for a day and a half, would suggest that beginners use a teaspoon twice a day until they clear out a reasonable amount of toxins. Remember, MSM doesn't cause headaches any more than fasting does, it is simply a agent that facilitates the release of accumulated poisons.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for starting this post. I almost didn't read it. I have been thinking about taking MSM and this site is great. Releasing toxins is exactly what I need. My allergies are horrible. I don't have the sneezing kind, but I am allergic to EVERYTHING outside and dust mites, mold, fungi, etc. (So allergic that the allergist recommended that I get shots twice a week - 4 shots at a time. I started this and reacted to the shots; constant headaches since they inject you with what you're allergic to to build up your immunity.) The fumes from shampoos and conditioners can start my eyes watering. I will be buying this at my first opportunity. I am anxious to see if my allergies improve. Will certainly love to get the hair growth benefits as well as toxins may be inhibiting my hair growth rate.
I had massive headaches from MSM and I was taking 1000mg a day. I started getting the headaches less than 2 weeks taking MSM. I stopped taking the MSM and within 2 days my headaches are gone. I take 1000 mg now every 3 days and don't suffer from the headaches. when I had the headaches, I was also off balance .
