Ok. My 'friend' has a thing for hair. Not to the point of a fetish :look: but he does love it. He's they type that will play in my newgrowth while we're laying watching tv and just LOVES tor un his hands through it when it's down.

Well I got a fresh relaxer a little over a week ago. And I jokingly asked on my first post-relaxer day to wash and set it. Well when he finds out the next day that I finished my hair without him he got a little offended. He was all "I was waiting for you to text or call me." I told him he can do my next wash, but ya'll know the meticulous process we go through. Mind you fool doesn't know how to roll or wrap hair... but he's like I want to help and you can just tell me what to do.

 I don't want fool to cause me a setback. It would be SMOKE IN THE CITY:mad: !!! Ya'll think I should talk him through it and let him help me or just tell him hellz naw I got it??

Is this just a sweet gesture I should just accept?

Lol, this is funny and cute. I don't know... I'm thinking if he likes hair that much he'll probably take great care while doing it. You still might want to talk him through it though.

That is pure bliss for me. I love to have my hair played in. (scalp massaged etc.) I would talk him through it. Since he has a thing for hair, I would think he would be extra attentive to your wishes.

Hmm, I think you can let apply a deep conditioner. I can't imagine messing that up. And you can show him how to detangle your hair, and if he takes that instruction well the sky's the limit you can have your own personal hairdresser:)

I know right. Deep conditioning today, personal relaxing assistant tomorrow

Girl you better gone and get a free massage out of this. Tell him you need it to help the blood to circulate.

I would start with letting him wash and condition your hair.

Teach him how to handle your hair; you might like it. My hubby washes my hair for me when I'm feeling lazy and he massages my scalp so well. And we have some of our best bonding sessions while he's washing and conditioning my hair.:p

Thats soo sweet:)

Men do make the best hairdressers. and you don't have to put your hands over your head trying to see the back. Relaxe you may enjoy it.

Ok I am jealous but I think the fact that he is into hair, he will probably be a good assistant.

I would love to have my man do my hair one day. One wash is not going to set you back see how he does while walking him through it.

LOL @ "Smoke in the City" Haven't heard that in a while...

He seems sweet. Good luck--if he can't take direction w/the 'poo-ing and DC, then you know rollers are outta the question
But it still counts as Quality Time, so it should be fun ;)

That is the sweetest thing!! I think you'll like it. My ex-fiance was all into hair with me and he would stay and help even if it took me three hours to do everything. He would always check on it while I was under the bonnet dryer to make sure one side wasn't getting "crispy" he said! He didn't like crispy hair!

Lol... I didn't think about crispy hair, but I did thing about the looooong process. I believe one session and his curiosity will be satisified :lachen:

He's been around for my hair journey but he only sees the different lenghts but none of the process.... oh how he will learn

But ya'll are right, it would be some good quality time!

Girl lol I just asked my boyfriend if he would ever help me do my hair and he gave me this look like "umm no" so I would love for my man to help me do my hair.. youre lucky. Thats so sweet. PM us if you're not happy and someone will take him off your hands :p

:lachen: :lachen: shoooot... I wanna get on your level

 This was cute.

Well i wouldnt let him wash it.... simply because i personally need to wash my hair standing in the shower to prevent tangles, and obviously thats a no-go to have a man in there helping me out who aint my Sig. O. But I digress.....

If you want to be nice and let him feel "involved" and a part of the process, you can DC your hair after washing (yourself), and then tell him that you would like a scalp massage. You can give him some story about how this is an important part of the process, how its vital that the conditioner is "worked into" the scalp, and so on and so forth. So if you like, once the conditioner is in and you have a plastic cap on your head, you can show him out to gently massage your scalp. Heck, if nothing else, you are getting the follciles stimulated and the blood flowing, which is gonna help with your growth. Then you can wash your hair out yourself and proceed with drying.

Hopefully this will satisfy his desire to help out.
