He BURNED my hair!! Yes he did!!! (LONG)

So, I'm sporting braids for the winter to give my hair some rest. I decided today to cut the ends off to make the braids shorter...you know, so the braids won't be so heavy and get caught in random things...

Today I decided to trim them myself and my boyfriend comes in and says he wants to be "helpful". I'll burn the ends for you when you're triming. Something in me screamed, "NO!", so I told him don't do anything, I can do this by myself.
Now, some of the braids are actually of my real hair. I give my hair a break sometimes so it's not pulled constantly by the fake hair. Obviously, it's shorter than the rest.
So while I'm trimming away, this fool brings out his lighter and starts burning the ends. Now, he keeps insisting on trying to be helpful, even after I told him not to.
Then I hear it....WOOSH!! And the smell!
"Strange, this braid flared up quickly!"
Now, I never put extensions around my hairline because it's so delicate there, and this fool just burned up a part that was shoulder length to ear length!!

I had to cut off an extra half inch to remove the burnt ends!
He proceeds to beg on the floor for my forgiveness, but I kicked the fool out of the room for a while.
It took me 5 minutes after the initial shock to react. I was just standing there, laughing for a good minute before I turned nasty!
Do yall think I overreacted?

Oh no girl, that was some good hair he burnt. But I think it was very sweet of him to try to help you. Most men could give a care less. Don't be too hard on him.

It was obvious yall! The hairline was cornrowed and I had individual extensions! You know that once you mess up hair in that area, it's hard to hide, and he burned a big part of it.
NOT the HAIRLINE! Anything but the hairline!

I realize he was trying to help, but it is taking every strength in me right now to stop from choking him, or giving him a "cut" too!

It takes me so long to grow hair on the sides...I take extra care in that area so it don't lose anymore hair, and now this.

After shedding some tears, I feel like giving up after this mess!

Just trim it well and moisturize it to death...it will return...hair always does...hang in there girl....

you should be mad but he was trying to be helpful and hair does grow back but it depends on whether you had to cut it off or cover it up. If you had to cut it off then i would have been mad
