I absolutely LOOVVVE having my head scratched and am lucky to have an SO that will do it!

He will be returning home in a few weeks and I have already scheduled several nights of good ole head scratchin.

But what I want to know is if it is bad to have your head scratched? Honestly, I think my hair was thicker when I had this done on a regular (imagination could be playing tricks) basis but I have to ask is it bad...it must be cause it feels SOOOOO goooood!

Does anyone know?

Are you literally talking head scratching? Or is it massaging that you're describing? Constant head scratching can lead to scalp irrtation, but I know head massages help to stimulate the scalp. If your SO or yourself are using nails to scratch the scalp, then I'd say let up a bit.

Actually scratching the scalp is not good it. It can lead to skin damage which can lead to folicle damage which can stunt growth.:nono: Picture your SO scratching your back...just because. Its one thing if you have an itch. But scratching the whole thing just because it feels good, can irritate the skin.

A vigorous massage is good for your scalp. Try having him do that for you, but no fingernails. :yep:

Aww man....I knew it wouldn't be a good thing. He uses a comb, I sit between his legs and he parts it and scratches/combs it. This is a thing in my family and when all the "hair people" get together it turns into a comb-scratch-wash festival!

I thought it might be ok because I even remember Joan from Girlfriends saying that she wanted a man that would scratch her head and I was like "that's right"!

Thanks for the responses!

Sounds heavenly! Make sure it's a seamless comb (or file the seams off of your favorite comb).
