How much leave-in were you using at first? I only use a quarter size amount (or a bit less) for all of my hair. Keep in mind, I only use creamy, thick leave-ins.
Pretty much any leave-in I was using wasn't giving me the soft silkiness that I'm getting without a leave-in.
Allandra, it could be that I was using too much. Wednesday evening, I applied a very small amount (like a dime) of the Elucence MB as a leave in and I got good results.

Supergirl, was it Biolage leave in that made your hair stiff?

I would like to know that too. I know it is great for detangling but when my hair is dry it feels a little stiff too!

I used Biolage for the first time two nights ago and I started out using just a little (since I wasn't sure what to expect) and my hair was detangled and very soft. And still is soft. Maybe the "less is best" saying applies in this case.
One of these nights maybe I'll try not putting in a leave-in, just to see what happens...
This may be true, supergirl. when I first tried Giovanni Leave-In, I used a huge amount because too much came out of the bottle at once (duh!). Last nite, I used less than a dime sized amount w/ a little profective 3 in 1 Phase Oil and my air dried hair is silky smooth today.
Maybe it also has to do with how you wear your hair afterwards? I usually braid and put perm rods on the ends. Maybe if you're wearing straight hair there's a difference? Not sure b/c I also used leave-in I was fully relaxed and blowdrying my hair every week.
True...when I rollerset, the heat sucks up some of the product and my hair is never greasy/heavy afterwards even when I used a lot of leave in. When I airdry, too much stuff on my hair leaves it kinda greasy and clumpy looking...
I didn't use a leave in last week, but I used one yesterday, and my hair is DEFINATELY not as soft. Would someone mind telling me what we use a leave-in for anyway?
I'm extremely trigger happy but I guess I need it now. I find the spray bottle it comes in doesn't saturate my hair quickly enough so I always pour my leave-ins into a "trigger" spray bottle b/c I get more coverage that way!
I used a little less leave-in today and got the same results as before! Basically, my hair has not been as tangly since I do a final comb through with the shower head before I get out. This will save me dough on the Biolage!
I just did my hair yesterday. Decided to use less leave-in than usual. My hair doesn't seem as hard and dry this morning. I'm glad that I read this post!!!
