Have you used affirmations and visualizations to attract a mate into your life? Exactly what techniques did you use?
 
I prayed on my balcony and said that I was ready, less than 2 months later I was in a relationship.
It works! :D

We have talked about 2 kids. We talked about next year in regards to getting married and keeping it a small destination wedding.
 
Ok... I'm sorta hesitant to share...but I will....

I would say that I did not use affirmations or visualizations, but I do know that when you pray with understanding, the Lord hears your prayers but the devil hears your prayers, too....

So one day (years ago) I was joking and I called myself asking the Lord for the "impossible" concerning a boyfriend/mate. And so I described him to a tee: I wanted a Black man with GREEN eyes and of course being smart, educated, single, nice guy, attractive, blah, blah, blah.... So I went on my way and did not think about what I said....

A short time later, through the job I had at an alternative weekly newspaper, the sales dept. needed personal ad space filled so they asked the staff to write a personal ad (woman seeking man ad). So I did. Lo and behold, one of the responses from the ad was from a guy who was EXACTLY how I described. EXACTLY. Down to the GREEN eyes.

So we talked on the phone and finally met over breakfast.... WOW!!!!! He was smart, a Morehouse man, and turned out his father was a municipal JUDGE!!! (and yeah, I looked it up for confirmation!) We went out a few times. It didn't take long for him to ask the availability of sex and when I had to say "it's not available here outside of marriage", he basically said that he liked me but he had to be able to have sex in a relationship and so we went our separate ways....

So that let me know that, in so many words, the devil studies us and knows what we respond to... he knows our "sammich", if you will.... That doesn't override who the Lord is because the Lord is greater than the devil....and since the Lord knows me better than I know myself and the devil, then He knows what's best for me and I'm willing to wait for that 'cause I could draw PLENTY to myself but what I draw to me may not be what's best for me....

And let me also state this for the record: I still have "preferences" and I have made them very clear to the Lord.... So while the Lord knows what I WANT, He also knows (more than me) what I NEED.... So the particular color of my husband's eyes is something that I want, but what I need is a praying man of integrity who has his power under control and is responsible with his time and money and no baby mama drama and so on and so on....

So hopefully I didn't hijack this thread....

From the book The Secret I learned to give more love to others to receive more love in my life. I didn't actually do to attract a man, but I have a great one and we're getting married in 2 days!!!! :grin:

Congradulations, Now If I can just sit down continue to read "Secret" instead of running off reading other books might learn a thing or two.
 
Being newly divorced (and an LOA follower) that will be my biggest coup - attracting the mate that I want.
