in the dominican salon i used to go to, the only license i saw hanging up was the owners...i refuse to believe all the stylists there were licensed, but they were good lol
you can always look it up online. check your state's professional regulations website. you can see your stylist's history with stateboard.

I just looked it up. I checked 2 hair dressers. The certificates say "inactive" and "pending."

Yes, I looked up a few people and received the same results. I think the site is not updated at all.
more than likely it is updated. if you see pending, they might be in the renewal process. inactive means they haven't renewed.
