Have you heard this about Wild Growth Hair Oil?

Greetings everyone,

I had my stylist apply some WGO on my wet hair before he rolled it and applied setting lotion. He read the ingredients and said, "This has protein in it...I would not use to much of it, or use it all the time." Has anyone else heard this?? I'm thinking that he was referring to the calcium that is listed in the ingredients. /images/graemlins/scratchchin.gif

I've never heard of that. Didn't the formula change a little while ago? I wonder which ingredient he considered protein.

Hmmm, I never heard that either. Please keep me posted as to anything you hear. I love WGO and use this stuff pretty frequently. I hope this isn't the truth.

I don't know about the Protein statement but I used too much once and my hair did start to shed horribly. It was so bad that I stopped using it even though I like the softness it created.

I haven't heard that before, it is fine if you use it lightly. Calcium is good for your hair and is a mineral. Proteins would contain the amino acids. [for example, methionine, cysteine, cystine]

Well, Nick (the guy who told me this) is the best stylist our city has to offer. But, considering how many stylists our city does in fact have, that is not really saying a whole lot really. He is really good with hair health though. So I dunno. So far I'm pleased with WGO though, all except for the smell. /images/graemlins/smile.gif But some stylists, have alterior motives I hate to say. Still, I dunno. I'll keep you all posted though. I'll ask more questions when I go back for my next relaxer. Oh, and Kitkat he used Affrim. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is a very simple dilema to solve. Read the ingredients listed on the back of the bottle. When last I checked it didn't have protien in it. Just b/c an individual is a good hairdresser doesn't mean they can't give out mis-information.

Yea, I figured as much. Thanks ladies. I'm new to all this self hair care stuff. /images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm one who was totally dependant on my hair dressor. Thanks to you all, I am more confident doing my own hair. But anyway, I was just curious to know what you informative ladies thought. I read the ingredients also, and calcium was the only ingredient that I saw, that was not a natural oil. I thought the calcium contained the protein. I plan to keep using it, I love WGO. I use it on wet hair and it doesn't smell at all. Thanks again. /images/graemlins/wave.gif
