gotten a service that left you so upset that you didn't know what to do with yourself?

I went to a salon, and was thoroughly impressed with the management and the general idea of the location. Then I got my hair done. I'm so unhappy (and mgmt was so aware of my displeasure that the offered to have the stylist fix it, then told me I could come back within a specific time frame to get it fixed if I changed my mind).

I was so upset that I just had to leave. I didn't even want to stylist to "fix it" I just had to go:sad::sad::sad:

Has this happened to anyone else or is this just me.

Happen to me. The first time I ever got my hair cut my stylist misunderstood what style I wanted and cut all my hair and spiked it so I looked like a bird.
I was so hurt when I saw my hair :crying3:

I think you should get it fixed. I couldnt get mine fixed because my hair was already cut off but you can fix yours. And I want to see a pic.

I'm so upset that I don't even want the person to put their hands back in my head.
I'm shame enough with this mess on my head. No pictures

Yes, I stretched for over a year and decided to retouch for my BDay. I had slick, silky roots, curly mid-length, stick straight ends. They rollerset, blow-dried, and flatironed my hair and it was a jet-black silky cloud. However, later that night in the FL humidity I was sporting a puffy-straight hybrid fro.

I had a correction done and my hair is STILL the same. The worst part is that they were hell bent on telling me that it was normal!

I'm sorry that happened to you. I feel your pain

I'm sorry that happened to you too.And I hear you about getting it fixed. I'm just so unhappy with it right now that I can't even stomach the prospect of going back.

Thanks SHW :)

I was going to BC but I think I'm going to work it out instead.
I've been shampooing with kenra moisturizing shampoo and deep conditioning with giovanni smooth as silk mixed w/Jojoba Oil - with this combo, I've been able to keep the frizzies at bay. I rollerset 1x/week, pincurl, silkwrap, bun, flexirod or french braid.

Not so bad NOW :)

Yes i was 14 i had my first little date so my mother offered to pay for a renowned hair salon downtown ,at the time i had a complete aversion towards curly hair ,i always kept it in a ponytail and straightened it everyday.Anyway ,i arrived at the salon with high hopes of a shiny swingin result ,the stylist assessed my hair ,washed it ,conditioned it and came to my chair with a bottle of gel (i hate gel) ,i looked and swallowed in silence ,he then proceded to diffuse my haie and when i asked him to straighten it HE REFUSED .He said that because my hair is naturally curly i should go with that and enhance it(i got it now).i walked out ,got home in tears with this ear lenght super poofy hair (i d love it now!) ,i was soo upset i washed it again and asked my mom to FIX my hair . Lol . Funnily enough years down the line i became obsessed with natural hair ,so much that i love tight curls, kinks like crazy!

@LexiDior, why did you have to say "a bird". I came in here with a sad face and feeling OP's pain but then you throw that in and post a pic and I CTFU. Sorry, but your description made it hard to sympathize. :lachen:

@ShortyDooWhop, I feel you. That's why I won't even let a stylist I admire touch my hair. Once bitten, twice shy. Basically I went to a stylist to get my hair shingled. It as full SL/CBL. She chopped off 5+ inches and gave me finger coils that looked like poop claiming that in two days I'd have bounce curls. I would've had locs if I had not undone my hair in a day or so. :nono: And after 2 years of growing my hair I was down to under 3 inches after that visit. :nono: So yep, I'd not let that lady or anyone fix it for me. I'd rather mess my own hair up.

Yes, and I only wish I had LHCF to vent to back then. None of my friends or family seemed to understand. They all kept trying to tell me it wasn't that serious, it was just hair and it would always grow back. They were right of course, but at that moment in time I was not in the mood to hear it.

So sorry you had to go through this.

Yep, right before I started my HHJ. The messed up thing is the stylist had 'done' my hair before a couple of times and I loved it. I knew my hair was chewed up (from relaxers and color abuse) but specifically asked her to do gradual trims. I went in for a shoulder length layered bob and came out with hair above my ears and way too tightly curled for my preference. I was so upset. DD3 cried when I got home and she saw me for the first time (she was in shock):nono:. That was the last time I went to a stylist and the beginning of my search for hair help:yep:.

I got my hair done for a wedding and the stylist did such a bad job that I had go straight to my cousin's house and get it fixed. Then the salon had the nerve to act indignant when my mom wanted her money back.

Nonie lol that look is not cute. i had to come up with a new way of getting into my car after that hair do- better yet, i didnt get much sleep. i was very ashamed after this. it took a lot of courage for me to post that pic lol. what make it so bad is that everyone who goes there comes out looking like that.

 It's a cookie cutter hairdo! :lachen: @LexiDior. Don't feel bad. If my pics were not missing (Fotki's got some 'splaining to do), I'd make you feel better by showing you that a bird do is so much better than a poop do. :giggle: But yes, you've made my night.

OK, so I complained and asked for my money back. Mgmt told me they don't give refunds but that they'd have another stylist do my hair. I politely declined and said that I was hella weary about having a co-worker/associate of the stylist who botched my hair get a "second shot". Am I being paranoid in not wanting anyone with scissors and knowledge of my displeasure coming near my head?

Edited to add that it's so bad people thought I had on a bad wig:nono::nono::nono:

Yes, back in the 90s I went to JC Penney salon to chop off my hair- I wanted a Halle Berry cut. The stylist decided to do something totally different. She didn't cut off my hair, but she me look like Claire Huxtable. No disrespect to Claire Huxtable, but I was in my early 20s and this was not the look I was going for. Thank God the style was reversible.

Oh dear....not it's not bad to make choices and decisions that you know is best for you. I will NEVER allow a stylist in my hair again. I've even had weaves being ***'d up so i wont trust another human but myself with a pair of scissors in my hair. Thank god for youtube!
