Have you ever witnessed God take vengeance

I have yet to see those people who have done me wrong get payback

Sometimes you don't see it, but trust me it is going to happen. When you wrong someone one of two things happens:

- It happens immediately. The person who did you wrong knows it and reminds themselves of their evil deed everyday. If he/she fails to repent their deed, this eats them up inside, but they can hide it from you forever OR it will come out one way or another (ill health, lost fortune, continuous bad luck, even death).
-God does things on His own time table. It may not have happened yet, but trust me, if the act against you displeased him AND the person did not ask His forgiveness, they will get His wrath.

My example was the latter. A person did something to try to break up my marriage. It didn't work. 10 years later, I am reading the newspaper. The person has been arrested for trying to kill her boyfriend because he did not want to marry her. She is currently serving time in prison.

I think the most important thing is to ask God to help you forgive the person(s) who wronged you. If you are waiting for the people who wronged you to get their due justice then chances are you haven't forgiven them. A pastor once said that when you (general you) don't forgive a person that is like putting a big ol' stop sign in front of your blessings. Forgiveness is key and pray for the people who wronged you because God's vengeance is no joke.

My first thought on this thread was "I never want to witness God taking vengeance."
As mrselle stated, forgiveness is key. I never want anything or anyone to negatively affect my relationship with the Lord.

It's not that I don't forgive but I feel like these people are rubbing it in and they feel like they have a sense of entitlement. I don't wish harm but I want them to realize they are wrong. Look how many psalms david ask God to take revenge for all of his enemies

Psalms 37

10 In just a little while, the wicked will be no more;
though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there.
11 But the meek shall inherit the land
and delight themselves in abundant peace.

12 The wicked plots against the righteous
and gnashes his teeth at him,
13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he sees that his day is coming.

While continuing to pray for our enemies - we can all take comfort in knowing that The Lord does avenge His people. However in the meantime this is how we are commanded to treat them.

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary:

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

Romans 12

(Whew the Lord is still working with me on this one) :look:

I read this quote today....“No matter what the storm, when you are with God there’s always a rainbow waiting.”

Be encouraged :bighug:
I’d like to share with you what I had to tell myself…take your eyes off of your enemies. Focus and meditate on the promises of God. We know that God is Sovereign, and because of His Sovereignty He has control over every circumstance.

God’s promises….

Rom. 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

2 Cor. 12:9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Isa. 41:10 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

1 Cor. 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

2 Cor. 4:16-17 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

Be Blessed.

I appreciate what all the ladies here have said I'm trying to focus on Gods promises but sometimes it gets so hard like right now I haven't cried and endured so much hurt and pain since my mom died. I feel so beaten and helpless lately because for the past couple of months it's been like Hell but.......I know God is good and btw I saw a double a double rainbow I took pictures and they were posted on news Facebook page

How long has it been since your mom died? Are you feeling depressed and beat up on? Please meditate on Psalm 91 and Psalm 40. I don't know your situation but I sense deep emotional pain.

My mom died long time ago I was using that example because I've have not felt pain like that since her. Yes there is some deep pain but I'm trying to fight this through because I have no choice and I have to believe in Gods promises even though I can't see it. I will read psalm 91 before bed thank you ladies again

Please remember this is spiritual warfare. This is not not about the person or people who caused you pain. This is a spiritual battl and you have to fight for yourself. Think of all the blessings God has bestowed upon you and start praising God for who He is and for all He has done for you. Remember this is not a hopeless situation. God has seen you through negative situations before and will give you strength and courage through your current situation.

I can relate to what you are going through, I felt the same way when my dad passed away in 2005. At one point, I realized that my dad did not want me to be living that way. He wants to see that he left a strong seed on this heart that is strong, wise and livign her life, being a good daughter, grand-daughter, aunt ,etc

Your mom wants the same for you.

When my dad died I had stopped living. I stayed in my room cry,and spent my days being angry. Eventually, I realised that is not what my dad had in mind for me. All the years he took care of me, raised me, etc. I know its the same for you mom. She wants the best for you.

Like another poster said. Focus on the word. I would add to that focus on the word and follow it. Mean it read, and obey it. When a passage says not to fret and remain calm... do it.

hope this helps.
