Have you ever brought something for your hair and it was a waste?

I was using that for years, my mom used it in my hair and it did absolutely nothing, but the only thing good was the smell

I felt gross after using it, it was so heavy. I use Organix now. Im not too crazy about the shampoo, but after conditioning it feels so soft and moisturized and clean.

Omg I used to looooove pantene relaxed and natural. I stopped using it when I came back to this forum cuz I was scurred, everyone said it was bad. I still eye it longingly tho since I have trouble finding anything else to work on my hair.

Organix was awful for me. I liked the coconut milk briefly but it started breaking my hair, and I have bottles of the other type that are just collecting dust. :( They're so full of cones they leave my hair coated and it eventually built up horribly.

You obviously have not seen my seventeen hundred previous posts. Sometimes there is no other way to prove a bad product until you try it for yourself. Unless i see really bad reviews somethings I just have to try. Problem is I have a cupboard full of crap now.

Organic Root Stimulator shea butter. Way too greasy.
Do Grow gowth oil. Useless.
Organic Root Stimulator carrot mayonaise cream or something. Useless.

Crown Pride Naturals - Shea and Hemp Whipped Butter
Crown Pride Naturals - Mowrah and Coffee Butter

My hair hates both so, I'm gonna dump a stronger fragrance in them and use them to cream myself.

Lol @ "use them to cream myself "

Sorry Sunrise...i had to..just couldn't resist :-)

Yes! Too many times! :look:

Shea Moisture Curl & style milk- the moisture factor just wasn't KABOOM enough for all this thickness! It's best as a hair softener imho.

KCKT- Well, it was ok...But that's it. Imho it was average and did not have enough slip or oomph for me and I don't care much for the consistency.

Raw unrefined shea butter :nono: my hair likes whipped and fluffy shea butter MIXES

Conditioners with sulfates and shampoos with cones - my hair HATES them

Mill Creek Botanicals Biotin shampoo- ^^refer to the above mentioned: cones. I tried this multiple ways and it always made my hair feel stripped, despite my technique. No me gusta.

Would it be wrong to say about 90% of what I buy doesn't work? Maybe more like 50%. That's why I've never tried KCCC, i just know I'll be disappointed. LOL

Send it on over here then lol. If it works for u maybe u should stick with it. There are so many DOs and DONTs I just try different things to see what works for me.

that crappy QP mango butter that everyone loves so much. That ish is crap
Curls asian hair tea conditioner was a complete waste of money. i still have the bottle too

thanks for this review,i still have this tucked away and was hoping to revist thinking i usedit wrong, so now i know, its going in the bin :nono:

African Pride Olive Miracle Braid Sheen Spray - this thing literally saps the moisture out of your hair. For all you ladies that want your hair to dry faster after washing, this product's for you! lol
Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Mask - Not moisturizing enough, works like a cheap conditioner
Nioxin Silk Elixir - Probably not for coarse hair, it didn't work for me and the texture was weird
Parnevu Carrot Oil Creme - I thought it would be thick like the Africa's best one, but it wasn't (ordered it online)

Flexi-rods for my 4zzz hair. They worked well when i was transitioning so when my natural hair grew long enough i bought a different set to set my hair in cos i wanted smaller curls. My natural hair will not hold a curl. Lesson learned.

ORS Olive Oil Hair lotion - Did not moisturize my hair, just sat there. Found out it had mineral oil in it.

Creme of Nature Argan Oil Moisturizer- Was excited when the argan oil collection came out. Made my hair look good for a few hours but after that..just dry and brittle.

Creme of Nature leave-in - Did almost nothing for my hair, just thought that I was not applying enough. Managed to use the whole bottle though.

Dr Miracles Hot Gro - made my hair and anything that came in contact with it a greasy mess. Only buy it for the tingle and it made my hair grow somewhat.

Dr Miracles Anti Breakage Cream - Just sat on my hair and did nothing to help with my breakage.

Keracare anyway - it was great on my relaxed hair, did absolutely nothing for my natural hair.
Giovanni Direct Leave-In - I have never had a product dry my hair out to a crisp until I tried this mess. Silly me tried it a few times with different products and still ended up with dried out hair. Don't believe the hype for this from other naturals! Gave it away to a friend.
Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship leave-in - Really didn't do anything for my hair. Gave it away to a friend.
Neutrogena Triple Moisture leave-in - was a complete waste of time looking high and low for this product that did next to nothing for both my relaxed or natural hair.
And there's more, just can't remember them all. lol

EcoStyler Gel. Left my hair a dried out straw-like mess.

Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter. Greasy greasy greasy. And it did nothing to define my twist outs for more than 2 hours. Strong smell too.

Giovanni Shampoo-Smooth as Silk Deep Moisture Shampoo. Did the complete opposite of moisturize. Felt like a horse could chew the hay growing from my scalp. Did the same to my daughter who is a 2a-2b!

too many things to name but the most recent and expensive was a $120 flat iron from the mall. works worst that a $20 conair flat iron!

Mine is that Shea Moisture smoothie everyone raved about and said it smelled like heaven.....that crap is funky!

ORS Edge Control....it sooooo thick and it makes my edges look and feel like I rubbed candle wax on them.

Both of them I'm going to find out ways to use up though. Oh and I have a lot more products I've wasted money on but I can't think of them right now.

OP I think I read somewhere that people were making donut buns with braid/weave hair. You wouldn't be able to see that, it would blend right in. I can't remember how they were doing it though or where I read it, sorry.

Yes. Most recently, ORS lock and twist gel. I twisted one loc with this, let it dry, and didn't like the outcome. I'm sticking to water and a light oil only for re-twists.

+1 I got this because it has coconut milk in it so I thought it would be more moisturizing than regular ol'. Gel. Wrong! My hair felt funky after using this too. In fact, I avoid get and curl defining products, like KCCC, because they do nothing at all for my hair but dry it out and make it feel like it needs to washed.

Patene for Relaxed & Natural Hair shampoo and conditioner provided no moisture for my hair and made me itch like crazy. Never finished that crap.

I just spent $60 on THREE damn products from Alfaparf which were unimpressive one being extra drying on my hair!! I'm so mad bc I'm a broke college student and cannot afford this PJ lifestyle especially on products that don't work. I really need to throw in the towel and stick to the basics that have worked for me: Alter Ego, Keracare and Nexxus with a couple of products from other product lines.

Over the years though I probably have spent thousands of dollars on my hair products by now

There are SO many others that have not worked at all for me including a lot of natural/organic products. My relaxed and natural hair seems to need a little something unnatural to act right so I don't I'll ever be able to go 100% organic/natural on hair products. I am definitely working on eliminating regular use of sulfates, heavy cones, and completely eliminating mineral oil/petrolatum from my regimen.

Curls products. Hated all of them. Either too heavy and greasy or too light. Bought everything from shampoo and conditioner to moisturizers and creams. My hair hated it all. Let DH use it up. Baby line was actually ok though.

its years later but im still fuming over the wasted money from
Terax conditioner-did absolutely nothing
Philip B products-did absolutely nothing and was soo expensive!
ORS anything
